Yeah I doubt we'll see any more TWOK figures for awhile.

I'd guess that was more about the direction they gave Robin in TSFS vs. What they asked of Kirstie in TWOK. They needed a more (dare I say) emotionally connected Saavik in TSFS given that the goal of that movie was to save a cherished life as opposed to simply F'ing up Ricardo Montalban!

You're absolutely right. Especially in TSFS she was dealing with a fellow Vulcan going through something they hadn't dealt with before. In the end I do mainly think of Robin Curtis as Saavik even though she didn't originate the role.

FYI, TWOK Kirk and McCoy will also have Kobayashi Maru and Regula One Editions just like Saavik.
There will also be Deluxe editions. TWOK is an Once in our lifetime production. I want to include as much items as possible to stimulate your Cortical node so you can remember who you were back in the good old days.
We are selling memories anchors and not action figures
😋

There is a reason why we never used "deluxe" as edition because I reserved "Deluxe" for TWOK and TOS
💪
I am from TOS era, can't blame me to have extra attention on the Trek from my era
🥰

I am EXTREMELY protective with TWOK and TOS. I have done all the good things for the younger Trek generations since 2021.View attachment 707312
Hopefully we get all the great TWOK and TOS stuff before we die of old age.

Hmmmmm........

I never want to put two much weight on internet photos that could perhaps suffer from non-ideal lighting and possible lens distortion, but these first in-hand photos seem to be gently nudging me to two preliminary observations:

1. Assuming no, or limited, lens distortion, they seem to have slimmed up her face a decent amount leaving her much less square-faced than she seemed in some of the prototype shots, which was my chief issue with the early protos and production samples. So that's a significant WIN in my book.

2. With the understanding that these display case shots appear to have been of the point and shoot variety with little or no deliberate lighting to flatter the head-sculpt detail, in these shots, Saavik does not seem to have benefited from EXO's recent upgrade in paint detail and realism. Sometimes I think EXO generally softens the paint-ups on their female figures in order to highlight softer skin and details, but that approach helps to make their girl figures among the least impressive in their lines.

I hasten to point out, however, that the jury is for sure still out on the paint apps feature because, again, it would be unwise to draw conclusions in this category from a few camera phone quick snaps in a detolf. My Saavik will arrive in the US today and should then take another few days to reach home, so definitely drawing no conclusions until I have her in the Qui-Gon Studio.....

3. The uniform(s) look great, and it seems EXO has returned to their former tailoring greatness (after a brief detour with Dr. Bashir)! Also pleased to see that the TWOK uniform flaps are in fact able to be opened and displayed in the down option. Now we'll have to figure out a way to have them lie flat!

I may be speaking out of turn, as well, because I don't have the figure in hand, but it appears to me from these photos that we have unfortunately lost much of the likeness of Kirstie. I hope to be proven wrong! The head does appear much too long and less angular, the features too flat and smooth, and the hair, well, looks nothing like the prototype which is shot with the right overhead light. Let's blame it all on the light and the camera angle, so let's not worry, and be happy.
