So I’ve been unclear, when is Paris supposed to go up for pre-order?

In my minds eye I envision a Voyager captains/XO chair set, helm console, and printed backdrop with everyone else standing around promo photo style. Does that up the ante?

This ^ if more command chairs are forthcoming, this set definitely needs the dual Captain/XO command layout.

Or at least (since it's essentially the same chair twice), an option to buy it as a single chair, plus separately a connecting center console. Then if you want the whole set, just get a second chair which also connects on the other side.

I dig the Endgame style uniforms as well, Admiral Janeway should be represented.

The amount of uniform changes we’ve seen post-Dominion War (Prodigy, LD, Picard) is a little absurd. These ones look sharp and a worthy progression from the grey ones which I think were the most realistic for a military type organization.

Well when you think about it from Encounter at Farpoint to First Contact had 4 different uniforms in the space of 7 to 8 years.

I don’t think 3 uniforms of the uniforms shown in Picard are too bad as there was a 20ish year span between the outfits Picard and Raffi wore in season 1 and the uniforms of season 3. Ignoring the variation of the latter one there’s plenty of time for the season 1 “present” inform to fit in.

My problem with Picard came when they introduced the strange variant worn by Riker in season 3. I’d rather he had worn the same style as Picard and Raffi in season 1.

I’d have been tempted to pick up a Riker in that uniform as you’d assume he wore it while commanding the Titan - someone even put him in one for the cover art of one of the Titan novels.

If Nanjin is looking for random figures where he could reuse headsculpt a with a new costume for his S31 group that would be one which would ping on my radar, I may be the only one though.

My impression was it was supposed to be more of an admiral style uniform he was wearing... except that Riker wasn't an admiral so that doesn't really work.

Paris looks very very bad to me. Hope it gets better with better pics. Frustrating but Nanjin must have multiple sculptors- A list to D list. I'm still hopeful

Which doesn’t make sense either as I don’t remember seeing any gold trim in the scene.

As they already had a uniform they were emulating but changing and a successor already designed it would have made sense to just use one of those. I guess the costume designer wanted an excuse to do something similar or different.

As I don’t have a FC Picard a Captain Riker from his Titan era could go in the FC Captains Chair it would fit better than Janeway who’s currently occupying it

No one knows yet. It was just a tease from Nanjin along with the first non-obscured photo of the prototype we’ve seen.

I feel good about my decision to jump off the Voyager line after only picking up Janeway and EMH, both of which I’ll eventually sell whenever it gets to the point where I’ll be able to get my money back. I was literally prepared to get every figure but the sculpts just aren’t cutting it for me, and I can already sense that I’ll be hate-buying at least a few disappointing figures from the TNG crew in the future as is, that is the one line I am pretty dedicated to completing no matter what.

Funny because TMP Kirk was easily my figure of the year in 2022 out of all my 1/6 purchases. Just confused what they’re doing over there honestly. I think most 1/6 collectors would agree that the sculpts are the most important part of a figure. I recently bought a few older Hot Toys figures like DX04 and Tech Noir Arnie and I don’t understand how the sculpt/paint on those figures are still so much better than most other 1/6 companies in 2023.

They seem to really do well on alien sculpts (Saru, Quark, Shran), DS9 looks to be off to a stronger start from what we’ve seen vs. VOY.

I’m optimistic TNG for the most part will come out better. The sculpts we saw on Tested (Picard and Riker) needed some refinement which at least for Picard seems possible as the Locutus sculpt is stronger vs. Darmok Picard, Geordi looked good from what I recall. FC Data was a strong release so that should translate over to TNG Data and the likeness on the sculpt for Picard S3 Worf is there so a younger version shouldn’t be difficult. Troi and Crusher may be where they struggle.

I thought I was done with VOY but I wound up talking myself into Harry Kim because I like the character. Probably will get Paris too.

See I like both of them as characters more than Chakotay. It feels a little odd to have a hodgepodge crew but whatever. They’ll all fit in with the larger Trek family.
