As soon as I saw the report I was suspicious, and when I read that the older son was the only one who saw the kid get inside, I knew it was a hoax.

Reminds me of the sub-story in 12 Monkeys that Cole remembers about the kid who fell down the well but was really hiding in the barn (?).

Well all the news outlets are finally realising the basket is missing and fell off.

Its amazing how stupid newscasters are even after learning that the balloon was independent, Wolf Blitzer actually thought the kid was just rolling around inside the balloon itself. Thats like thinking your supposed to sit in the jet engine of a 747...

Well, when if first saw the footage I saw a couple of chords on the Balloon, and I wondered if it had a basket, but since it's an experimental thing, maybe it indeed had some sort of chamber for people attached to it...

But when it landed, and saw how small it was, I thought no way it could've carried anybody inside...

Alright...the news outlets are being very spotty with this...

So if I get the gist, the boys were playing in the yard with this balloon thing that had a basket on it. The 6 year old gets in the basket. It takes off (somehow) and the other brothers get on the roof with a camera to film it. Everyone freaks out. The balloon lands two hours later with no boy inside. No one can find the body or the boy. That seems to be the nutshell?

I have a question, how would (if indeed this happened) the balloon drop AFTER the boy drops out? How would losing 65lbs of weight bring the balloon down? Wouldn't it be the other way around?
