I searched, didn't see that this had been posted...

This is one of my favorite shows, if not THE favorite. Apparently, this writer's strike is going to impact Fox's Family Guy, or should I say Seth McFarlane's Family Guy. Unfortuantely, Fox decided to continue to produce Family Guy episodes while creator Seth McFarlane sides with the writers on this issue. Seth McFarlane does voices of Peter, Stewie, and Brian the Dog; so it stands to reason those characters voice acting will be replaced by someone else.

Is it just me, or does this seem like a HORRIBLE move?

Oh it is, but FOX doesnt care. Just look at their history really, that gives you all the info you need about how much they really care about their shows and their potential/audience. All they see are $$ signs.

The animated shows aren't covered by the WGA, although McFarlane is probably a member.

But this can only be good news - now the show actually has a chance to be funny for once.

Animated writers are covered by IATSE - same as drivers, stage grips, etc. Nowadays there's lots of crossover though and shows like Simpsons are covered by WGA contracts, maybe Family Guy too. Animated writers get paid MUCH worse than WGA writers, lower minimums, lower residuals, etc.

Personally I think Fox is making a mistake.

They could get away with replacing the writers (possibly) but if we're also gonna lose out on voice talent it's gonna show in the episodes and I doubt fans will warm to the new voices (especially if they're only gonna be a temporary arrangement).

I can see them using some hillarious lines in the show to explain why certain characters have different voices though.:D

No, this is a STUPID move.

Hahahahahaha...NO. :nono This show is hilarious and you've got to be a corpse not to find it funny.

See, we argee on some humor. Now if I could just get you to see that Will Farrell is NOT funny....at all.....EVER.

This conjurs up for me an image of Dave on his couch with his Tonner dolls lecturing his cats about how there hasn't been a decent comedy on the television since The Andy Griffith Show.

Don't ban me Dave I'm just kidding! I have several friends who don't like Family Guy but they are wrong too! :D

Family Guy is one of my favorite shows and to see Fox editing and airing episodes without McFarlanes consent is really lame. Stupid move by Fox indeed.

*Will Farrell and Steve Carell are hilarious and original in their own field, which makes them even more funny.
