Just saw the Jeremy Jahns review. Damn, he said it was complete ******** :lol and he usually sees the good in ****** movies, so I guess this movie IS that bad.

For some reason I want to go and see how bad it is for myself, feels like a big occasion :lol

Yup Jeremy is a pretty straight forward guy, he'll let you know the actual redeemable qualities in a bad movie but I laughed at this review

Honestly if Stuckman hate movie then its really really a bad movie. He is quite easy moviegoer and quiet easily amused

Two posts up you just got done saying you enjoyed FF4 *much* more than AOU and Ant-man, and then finished this post saying you want Marvel to get the rights back..... sorry, that just makes no sense to me. You should either commit to liking the movie with the understanding that Fox did ok and should do another, or the movie was **** so Marvel should have it back. I know you were one of the only people that stood behind the movie, and maybe feel like you have to like it to save face.... but it is ok to be wrong about a movie. Most of us wont beat on you too much :)

I was about to say this till I saw that you already commented on it. XD

I'm seeing this on Tuesday but I'll be paying for and seeing Mission Impossible and then hopping into FF.

he trashes it, his review is pretty funny. he actually gets angry and everything.

He says he rather watch Batman and Robin again instead of ever watching this again.....

:lol

This is one film where I want to see the original cut and original film... the director said that his version a year ago would have been great, I want to see that.
Who knows, maybe it was originally an amazing film and for who knows what reason FOX went and F'd it up to maybe try and make it lighter or more like the comics. Honestly , its the studio who messed this up so im not going to pay to see this version, give me the directors cut instead

Movie was nowhere near as bad as the critics made it out to be. Its not a masterpiece (far from it). Its a good UFF adaptation with a weak third act that was clearly butchered in post and that was re-shot to make the film lighter. The first act is strong and the second act is solid, but once that third act begins to unfold things go sour.

A buddy of mine actually caught a test screening for this a while back and told me about how different [and better] the ending was. For starters
Doom's return to Earth is longer. After the black hole is closed, Doom attacks the team and badly injures Johnny. Ben beats Doom to a pulp leaving him for dead, but Doom survives. Johnny ends up in a coma and they bring him back to Earth where they patiently wait for him to wake up. The last shot was Reed, Sue and Ben sitting by Johnny's bed. Reed's falling asleep when he sees the flames engulf Johnny's body. As Johnny regains consciousness the screen cuts to black. The stinger was Doom back in the Negative Zone being abducted by an alien ship. Once on board its revealed the ship is Apocalypse's - who thinks Doom is Kang because they have the same DNA
. I guess that would have been the beginning of the crossover.

Sounds like a much better third act and what Trank meant via his Twitter comment.

Its a shame the press is butchering it so much. At the lowest it deserves to be in the 60s on RT. I give it a 7/10.

Wait, so now people are waiting on a director's cut? But didn't villainous Fox cut all his amazing action sequences before they were shot?

This thread has hit "crazy pills" territory. :lol

How does Singer release good movies under Fox?

Why didn't Fox ruin Singer's movies like they did with Trask?

Are we sure that Fox was the problem?

This ****** pot head was way over his head, Fincher he will never be.

What was his glorious vision for this movie, a boring lab study 2 hours long.

I don't feel bad for Fox they made their bed now lay on it.

Of course you did. :lol

For those curious about how bad it is but don't want to give any money to Fox, do what I'm going to do and buy an Ant-man ticket but see F4 instead.

Nah, buy a ticket for FF. Whether it's a case of poor direction, studio interference, or a combination, people worked on the movie. Honestly, if I wasn't so busy these days I'd probably kill 2 hours out of curiosity. As much as I've participated in the pre-game shenanigans in this thread I dont hate Trank or Fox. But this practice of rushing a movie for the sake of keeping the rights is screwing everyone and the franchise.

Did anyone see Max Landis (Chronicle writer) tweets about his version of Fantastic Four that he pitched to Fox?

fun fact: did you guys know I pitched on new Fantastic Four?

I was busy with other stuff, it was just a short one, but it was a fun idea

IIRC in my pitch for FF, the ship they went up on was called "The Fantastic." So the news media ultimately called them "The Fantastic Four.

Max Landis ‏@Uptomyknees Aug 4
It was an illegal space launch for an Elon Musk type figure, and Reed's dorky *** named the ship.

Max Landis ‏@Uptomyknees Aug 4
My movie was primarily a fun heartfelt comedy about science and friendship, so it doesn't surprise me they went in a different direction.

Max Landis ‏@Uptomyknees Aug 4
very surreal as a writer, how many movies you see come out and think "oh I remember when I made up a version of that."

There was a scene in my Fantastic Four where a heavily restrained Reed Richards beat up an entire room of guys using only his face.

Yep.

.@_anthonynash When you pitch on a movie, it entirely depends who you're pitching to, how seriously they're taking you, and if they want you

Pretty much, saw it today and it's nowhere near as bad as reviews say. I enjoyed it much more than AOU and Ant-Man but it definitely felt like plenty of scenes were cut. I certainly think a director's cut would make this a decent film. The 3rd act feels like it was directed by someone else, and that's probay because it was :lol

Reading those review is so much fun, lmao I've never seen so much rage and hate over movie. I am not planning to watch it but maybe I will. Just curious how bad the movie and bad CGI of reed's morp face every reviewers mentioned
