As you all know, film trailers are an integral part of a film's marketing campaign. Ideally, a good film trailer captures the essence of a film and it gives you an idea of what the story is about, while at the same time it excites you and motivates you to watch the film. However, this is by no means a rule, and therefore, there are different types of trailers with specific purposes. As a result, trailers can be deceiving, and even "bad films" (films are subjective) can have great trailers, and of course, good films can have terrible trailers, unfortunately. In a way, trailers have become an art form of sorts...or maybe just a great marketing tool. Nevertheless, we all watch them, talk about them, review them and even do reaction videos about them online. With trailers getting better and better each year to the point that even the trailers get a teaser, sometimes multiple teasers, and countdowns, this got me thinking and asking myself a question, what is the best film trailer I've ever seen? And now I ask you the same question. What is the best film trailer you've ever seen? Or perhaps a better question is, what are some of your favorite film trailers regardless of the quality of the films?

I have to say, this and the Alien trailer, are still great today and I bet they were ahead of their time, because back then most trailers (if I'm not mistaken) used the voiceover (guy with deep voice...who says "In a world where...well you know how it goes).

I remember that one My brother and I couldn't wait to see the film...and I think we also got the same chills after watching film ...I still think Maul was awesome though.

Nice! Believe it or not, I've never seen that ESB trailer. I like the Darth Vader breathing sound at the end

After how completely satisfied I was with the first film, I could not wait for the second. Love it when the music kicks in half way through....the shots of the battle at Helm's Deep, getting to really see Gollum...I was so excited and watched this many, many times before the film was released.

After how completely satisfied I was with the first film, I could not wait for the second. Love it when the music kicks in half way through....the shots of the battle at Helm's Deep, getting to really see Gollum...I was so excited and watched this many, many times before the film was released.

That music is epic I've seen more than a few trailers using LOTR music...can't blame them.

Like Phantom Menace, this one was a let-down as a film, and it may seem quaint now that every other movie released is a huge event where the world is nearly destroyed. But back when this first showed up at the theaters, it was amazing:
