I really liked Tokyo Vice. Two great seasons that I didn't see many talking about.

Just got s2 for Xmas. I watched both seasons weekly, one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Ken Watanabe is INCREDIBLE as Katagiri and Sho Kasamatsu is just showstopping as Sato.

I actually just watched Deadpool and Wolverine for the first time last night and I can see why it made a number of people's lists.

I was almost surprised to find it entertaining, but I think I'm just over the sly winking and nodding meta commentary thing. I would like movies to commit instead of acting like they're too cool for themselves like a long drawn-out Instagram Reel or whatever.

I mean I get it, that's basically what Deadpool's always been and it wasn't a bad movie; I just think it falls under disposable entertainment I won't remember next week.

I'm just gonna go yell at some kids to get off my lawn now.

Another 2023 film I will add to the list, Strange Darling. Didn’t love it, but liked it enough that it probably cracked my top ten. One of those films you don’t talk about though, just watch it.

Great to see a lot of people liking The Substance, I am going to try and watch that this week.

Have not had alot of time this year for the screen.

1.Dune II
2. Furiosa
3. Twisters

TV

Silo
What we Do in the Shadows
Fallout

The Fall Guy was tremendous and I really enjoyed Furiosa. But nothing else is really jumping to mind. I liked American fiction but didn't love it. Haven't seen Crow yet so I can't say for sure I've seen the best film.

TV wise we had two of the greatest batman shows ever in Caped Crusader and Penguin. Succession and Yellowstone ended nicely. Xmen 97 and House of the Dragon were also great.

HotD is a mixed bag for me; I thought Succession ended decently -- enjoyed Caped Crusader, haven't see Xmen 97 or Yellowstone (although I liked the two Yellowstone prequels). Penguin's on my best-of list of course.

Actually I just finished binge watching the final season of What We Do in the Shadows.

I think it was stronger than the penultimate season which was a little tired for me; and I'm pleasantly surprised they stuck the landing on the final episode, which is as we know quite difficult for a lot of streaming TV.

I felt like they remained true to the Vampires' nature while letting them grow and change a bit, and kept the spirit (no pun intended) of the show intact with the finale.

Yes just finished it as well and I will admit I did a little man cry at the end. I think I’d grown to care for these oddballs.

And I'm so far behind on all the tv shows starting with S - Silo, Slow Horses, Shogun, lot of new year catching up to do ...
Because of your like of #4 TMoUW in movies, have you seen the series "Rogue Heroes"?

Well you guys know I'm a grumpy old man that hates everything.

I watched a lot of stuff, and some of it held my interest and I enjoyed it.

A lot of it was dog ****.

I can't think of a single TV show or movie from 2024 that I'd ever feel like revisiting. Even the "best" of it was just forgettable.

Some stuff was so incredibly bad it boggles the mind how it ever got made. Acolyte, Rebel Moon...

The Bear season three realllllly sucked. And it was even worse cause seasons 1 and 2 were excellent. Huge letdown. What a waste of my time.

Same with Dune 2. Such a letdown after an intriguing and well-crafted lead-in.

I liked Shogun, but it didn't change my life or anything. I'll never feel inclined to watch it again.

2024.....a truly rotten year for movies and television.
