Who's your favorite villain so far?

I started this because I find the villains I know nothing about seem to end up being my favorites and wanted to see what you guys think.

My stipulations were fairly simple. They had to be, more or less the top villain, and they couldn't have a change of heart.

Ock ultimately kills himself to stop what hes doing, so by the end he is more or less good again. Same story with Sandman. The Villains who were true to the end are up here. I know Norman sort of rides that fence, but he ultimately tryed to kill Spidey so he remains evil in my book.

I voted for Iron Monger, a character I had known nothing about going in to see the flick. But he proved to be rather evil and conniving, he had the life long friend thing going, he betrays Tony, tries to kill him, steal his company, murder Potts etc. The scene where he actually rips out Tony's heart and dangled it in front of him while he told him it was he who betrayed him sealed it for me.

Magneto.

Stryker runner up.

Dafoe kicked ass though when he wasn't wearing the power rangers costume.

The rest weren't anything special.

1. Magneto
2. Stryker
3. Iron Monger

Why the hell is Jigsaw in there, though? Was there a marvel villian with the same name? And if so then what movie did he appear in?

Punisher War Zone, not the Saw guy. :lol

It was IMO, Frank's most memorable villain on screen so far so I figured I'd throw him on there.

Looking at that list made me realize what a poor job Marvel's done with their villains in the movies.

Also, Doc Ock was pretty good.

Right? I never would have thought I'd pick Iron Monger over Dr. Doom.

Two of my all time favorite fights are Ock on the train, and Sandman in the subway, but the out of character endings they had destoyed the stories IMO. Not that Sandman killing Ben wasn't bad enough.

Ah, that explains it, I only saw the very first Punisher movie and none of the others...:(

Still weird that they didn't rename the villian, though. Usually studios try to get around that sort of stuff, to avoid confusion.

On that list , Magneto EASILY..basically a win by default, with GG comming a distant 2nd...... The poor excuse for Dr. Doom?? The studio rape known as Venom?? They are dreadful. Its even worse considering that they are so great when you look at the source material. Iron monger, Abomination, and Stryker sufficed despite the fact that they are not first tier villans in the source material. They had every reason to suck, but came out pretty decent (in my opinion due to the acting on the part of Bridges, Roth, and Cox, as well as the proper casting and character development). I think that makes the Doom and Venom product even worse.

But I think Doc Oct has to be the best villan in the marvel batch so far. The villans on that list coudnt hold Molinas jock when it comes to acting or Doc Octs jock when it comes to visual coolness. Hes def my fav marvel baddie so far.

As mentioned in this thread, it just demonstrates how poor marvels onscreen villans have been in general. They look like fluffers when compared to TDK's Joker.

The Green Goblin was good, but was let down by the outfit that made him look like a Power Rangers bad guy.
I liked Bullseye in Daredevil but he was a bit too comic.
I don't know if you can count this Villian, but Blade 2's Nomak was pretty good

It seems DC villians translate better to the big screen than Marvel
:chase

I agree.

Ra's, Scarecrow, the Joker, Harvey two-face.... Hell even though 80 percent of Superman Returns sucked, Kevin Spacey's Luthor was decent compared to most of the marvel stuff.

I really wanted to vote for Goblin, but Magneto was just amazing in my opinion. It really is sad (as many before have stated) how weak the transition of Marvel Villain's to movies has been in comparisons to DC. Especially Doom.....I grew up on that character. I swear, if Red Skull falls on that list, I will be so upset. :monkey2

Also I may say myself, I loved what Raimi did with Sandman in Spidey 3. Now in the comic's.......that is a different story. Yet in Spidey 3, did he even count as a real baddie? Ahh now I'm confusing myself.
