Hey did eBay change something with the way they award feedback? I logged on earlier today and my rating was 387, what it has been and then this afternoon (w/no new feedback) it jumped to 417?!?

I know they are making a lot of changes, so did I miss something, or is my jump in feedback a mistake.

I am assuming they are counting multiple feedback ratings from the same people, whereas before they were not. Mine jumped over 100 today.

Well I'm not the only one... maybe multiple feedback from members counts now? Thats the only thing I can figure.

Edit- Bannister said about the same thing...

I noticed they're also only counting your feedback for the past year, and not your entire history like before.

Yep. Ebay changed their fedback policy. I noticed a jump in mine as well. On my home page, there is an announcment reminding that new policies went into effect today including the feedback change.

The feedback changes outlined in Brian's announcement below will go into effect today. You can learn more about these changes by visiting our information page and updated FAQ.
We will be updating everyone's feedback scores over the next few days to reflect their repeat feedback. During this time, some sellers may see a temporary discrepancy between their scores shown on their item pages and on their Feedback Profile.

And to my discredit, my score dropped to a 97.1% .... :horror

This bites, I had a 99 previously when the sum of my feedback was taken into account. :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4:monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

Their new feedback system SUCKS!!! Not being able to leave negatives for a buyer is absolutely ridiculous. I guess the deadbeat scumbags that bid on your auctions and then don't pay are so special that they don't deserve negative feedback. Are you kidding me? I'll be selling a lot less stuff on eBay than I used to because of this.

I really hate Ebay.

I go from 100% to 98.2% in one swoop with this change because a few weeks back some wacko who was new to ebay left me a neutral for no fair reason at all. I've kept 100% positive for many years now.

Most of the people I deal with are cool, but I've run into quite a few jerk buyers over the years who try to manipulate better deals or cheaper shipping & now ebay says I can't leave them negative feedback?:banghead

According to eBay, these changes are being made to help increase shopper confidence:
- Sellers will no longer be able to leave negative or neutral feedback about buyers
- Buyers will only receive positive feedback

Doesn't look like my feedback changed any. If it did, it certainly wasn't enough for me to notice.

Mine stayed same, except for an actual + vote left yesterday. If anything changed, I should qualify for whatever it is, so I'm guessing this may take a couple of days to get to everyone.

That not being able to give a buyer a negative is a complete load... lot of shady people on both ends of transactions, but now no way to report it and makes it less likely that you can avoid and get satisfaction out of a scammer.

Its going to be such a pain in the ass for sellers to report shady buyers and unwarranted negatives. sigh...

Wow, I already have a guy not paying for an auction he won, I guess he'll just keep wasting other people's time too.

so much for the "community".:banghead
