Coo Model has a pretty good track record with their historical figures. Their samurai figures are great but they also aren't afraid to branch out to other time periods. I'm usually pretty happy with the level of detail, accessories, historical accuracy, and price. The figures they released this year (Hernan Cortes, King of Empire, Elf King, Oda Nobunaga) are some of my favorite in my collection.
But I feel like their recent preorders have been disappointing. Take their Euro-style Oda Nobunaga:
Standard:
Deluxe:
The standard version is $409 USD. It's not a bad figure besides the waxy looking headsculpt, but it's lacking enough accessories or any justification for that high of a price. Meanwhile the deluxe version is a whopping $509. I definitely feel like the cape should have been included in the standard version. Or they could have removed that weird long white-haired skull they keep reusing for their Nightmare Fantasy line and cut the deluxe down to only a $50 increase.
But it looks like even this price isn't enough to recoup costs on the figure, because their Nightmare Series Human Puppet reuses a lot of parts from Nobunaga's armor.
They also reused parts for the recent Spanish Musketeer Conquistadors. While these figures are priced more reasonably, their pants are definitely not something that conquistadors would have worn, looks like they were taken from batches of Swiss Guard figures which didn't sell
I also made another post explaining how the musketeers are otherwise not perfectly historically accurate and missing on accessories https://www.collectorfreaks.com/thr...uistador-musketeer-musketeer-sergeant.252540/. They couldn't even have given them a dagger or sword?
Anyone know what's up with Coo Model recently?
