Price seems nuts, only around $575 for essentially 3x 1/4 statues.

But yeah, hard to tell how the product will look. The renders are very cgi.

The polygon figure set is out now, should be getting mine in a few days.
Aslo, Pink Pink appears to be making a 1/4 Cloud which does look really good.

Pink Pink Studio Tifa paintjob was updated again and its a huge improvement
It almost looks identical to the preview render pictures now

The PlayArts Kai figures have seen some big delays, according to BBTS. Cloud and Barret are out in October now, Tifa in December, Aerith in April, Reno in May, Rude in June and Sephrioth on July. It sucks to have to wait so long but financially it's better for me not have so many of them out before and just after Christmas.

I'm interested in those, but they just seem expensive considering they aren't mixed media and not quite 1/6 scale. I'd be more inclined to get a couple if they were $100 or less.

I'm getting them since they're the best figure representation that's on the market for the Remake cast. All these 1/6 third party companies are making some wonky looking figures for these characters that aren't up to the quality they should be. At least the playart figures are taken directly from the in-game models.

Wish Square would share their license out more for figures instead of being so closed minded on it.

lol you can tell a lot of these head sculpts use the game models. All those 3d cgi fanarts you see on the FFVII fan pages do too and I'm surprised a lot of them don't just mention . They've been using the files that were ripped on certain sites and sculpting their own hair and texturing them themselves since texture maps from games are actually 2d images that can't be printed out.

I really like the head sculpts on the Play Arts, but the bodies and paint always look so cheap next to my other collectibles.

As for the Xceed 1/4 diorama that includes Tifa, Cloud and Aerith, they seem to be a company that's more made by fans, for the fans. They did that Chrono Trigger 1/6 statue at a really good price and an amazing 1/4 Goku vs Vegeta at a really good price too (people started receiving them, I think).

I ended up order the trio and Pink Pink Studios Cloud.

Thanks for the links. For the scale and price it's really tempting, but I'm hesitant to order. It's not a proven statue company like Prime 1, who knows what the final product will look like? It's just a render so far.

I highly doubt any of these 1/6 sculpts we're seeing are ripped from the game. There's zero chance with how bad they all look. All these statue companies are doing a really good job on the sculpts but none of the figures come close for some reason. It's a shame because I wish they would just shrink these sculpts down and do a 1/6 figure.

They are overpriced but they're probably all we're going to get as far as official high end figures and they will probably do a good chunk of the characters in the game, the fact that they've made Reno and Rude is an example of that so you'll have everyone you want. I would hate to go with a their party company for Tifa, Aerith and Cloud!d and not be able to get a Barret or Cod or whoever to go for them. Plus the entire party in 1\6th scale would be crazy expensive.

Play arts generally drop in aftermarket value after a few months. The most I ever paid for a FF PAK was around $130 shipped.

The only PAK that'll probably retain its value is Tifa... and I could see Rude and Reno being on the market for a while and dropping below 100.

I still haven't preordered any figures. There are a couple more unlicensed Clouds that haven't been fully revealed yet, gonna wait and see how they look.

I'm still hoping someone makes Jessie, she was my favorite girl in the game.

VTS has announced their Cloud Figure, the face isn't perfect but everything else looks good IMO.
Can't upload any pic now (not sure why), but here's a direct url to the image

Now we are talking! He is already up for preorder at OSK! There are two versions - one comes with a fancy base and a cactar. I never buy the collectors versions, but I will make an exception in this case. Preordered.
