Another one
I can't see anything, man. It looks great to me. As far as these Clouds go, I've seen a lot worse in this thread. It would be a shame to give this up and potentially receive something even worse. One of mine has some dirt on his cheek too, and my other one has a speck in his eye, but no dirt on his cheek lol. I just accepted they aren't perfect but pretty close.

Yeah, this is literally par for the course for hand painted mass produced heads. It looks completely fine. My "looking to the side" sculpt doesn't even look like he's looking to the side, they painted the eyes too close to forward facing compared to most the ones I've seen online. Stuff like that happens. As long as there isn't huge paint errors, you have to learn to accept each one is going to be different.

That said, the small chance of a big paint error is why I actively avoid purchasing new-in-box figures secondhand. I actually prefer buying them open if I'm buying them on the secondary market, specifically so you know there's no huge problem the secondhand seller can't fix for you.

From the photos, I don't see anything wrong with your Clouds face either. I think all of these figures have various flaws if you really nitpick them closely.

Wait, the heads are hand painted? I thought it was factory painted? @vaanrose

They're painted in the factory, by factory workers, with brushes.

Some companies have started using dot matrix "painting," which is basically done by blasting color out of a specialized machine, but you can tell when something is painted that way because up close you can see the individual "dots" of color. Hasbro's been doing it that way for a couple years, and Hot Toys uses that technique on stuff like armor. But the result is fairly "blurry" so not a lot of companies have adopted it for headsculpts. I think LimToys might have used a dot matrix printer on their 1/12 Last of Us figures, but don't quote me on that.

So this is used by air brush by factory workers instead of machine? Isn’t that hard to do and takes time vs machine? How do you know this? This is my first time hearing factory workers doing it themselves. I’m used to the chogokin/super robot collecting game that’s why I feel ignorant when asking this

A machine can't achieve the same results. Faces are intricate and require precise painting, and every face is different and has different requirements. It's not all airbrush, either. Most the fine details are only attainable with a standard brush. This is just how these kinds of figures have always been made. The main artist paints the prototype and develops a pattern for the rest of the painters to follow, and they replicate the artist's work as best they can. It's also why there's always a downgrade from the prototype to the final product, it's the nature of the task. They're painted by less talented artists at a faster pace.

It still takes a while, though. It's part of the expense and why these things are so expensive.

It's the same with clothing, most of it is cut and sewn by a person, not a machine.

Oh…. So Gametoys, Iconiq and Hot Toys hand paint the heads, right? I get it now why it’s expensive and have some imperfections

Heads up to anyone that’s still looking for AC Cloud.

https://giantoy.com/ has both editions. Don’t know how many units, but he’s there.

https://www.fanaticanimestore.com/ has ONE Cloud+Fenrir set left.

I can vouch for both shops. I’m a regular at Giantoy and I’ve received two statues (with another 2 on the way) from fanatic.

I think this should be considered “LAST CALL” for AC Cloud. Over at GT, the full set may cost a wee bit more than initial release…but it’s better than paying even more down the line. At fanatic, the full set is the lowest I’ve seen.

Last call. If anyone here wants this, now’s the time.

How long do they ship and do they have after -sales department just in case I need replacement parts?

GT offers standard 7-14 biz days to arrive OR DHL.

Fanatic…tbh I don’t know the speed for lighter items such as the deluxe set. The 2 statues I PO’d from them took a month to arrive. You can always email them and ask how long Cloud will take to arrive.

GT are great when it comes to replacement parts as I’ve been taken care of with damaged items. Fanatic I haven’t dealt with them long enough to experience things like that…but…seeing as how they only have ONE deluxe set…I don’t think they can do much with replacements. That’s my opinion though. It’s best to reach out to them and ask.

I just want the Cloud only as they have it on cheap. Is it easy to reach them out for replacement head ?the face can have paint issues like my previous copy.

Finally received my Fenrir from Gundamit after all the return. The box a bit beat up, there was a slash from outside the box but I'm glad it never make it all the way in the bike. Now I just need to find a place to display it! And I did receive the latest batch version it seem the goggle was place in a box also came with the sword support bracket.
