Looks great, I wonder how they're keeping up production while others are getting so much heat.

I have a hard time believing the "heat from SE" angle. LIM is over here straight up putting the video game logos on their packaging making it look like a licensed product when it isn't. GT is just slooooooow. LIM was previously the company that wanted their threads deleted because they didn't want Rockstar coming after them.

I know a store owner in China that was arrested for selling unlicensed Final Fantasy statues. Square Enix's official Chinese account also issued a statement last year where they informed the public they had led a sting operation with local law enforcement to seize and arrest manufacturers working on unlicensed Final Fantasy and Nier Automata merchandise. The brands working on unofficial FF figures have good reason to lay low, even if they are slow.

Not denying what you're saying, but we're still continuing to discuss SuperDuck, Toys Era, whoever made that Barrett figure, I can't keep track of it all. There are numerous other companies releasing unlicensed FF stuff. This thread itself isn't exactly 'under the radar.'

I'm honestly stunned at how quickly they're moving along. I wonder if they'll hit their Q2 2025 target, which would be really impressive for a new company.

Meanwhile, Gametoys is working on their 79th revision of Noctis's head sculpt

Still nothing on that order bonus with Kit for the ACG? Unless the bonus is the friends we’ve made along the way

So what you're telling me is that ACG is walking on thin ice? 😬 They must understand the risk and are willing to push forward I guess...

I don't think that indicates the SE heat isn't as serious as it seems. Some companies may just be more cautious than others. People are still waiting on Toys Era Aerith.

People discussing the figures isn't going to tell Square where they're being manufactured and everyone knows it's unavoidable, you said it yourself, LIM tried but it's impossible to keep things hush, hush on the internet, and if you keep them too under the radar then you run the risk of barely selling anything. Most people making unlicensed figures don't really have to worry about license holders because most of them don't care about it, even when knowing about said unlicensed products, because their profit is made selling movie tickets, streaming subscriptions, video games, live service features, etc. Others can't even do anything about it, some send the usual C&D but it's meaningless as most of them are issued to online retailers from overseas law agencies. It's a different case with Square Enix since a lot of their profit comes from merchandise, they have a huge base in China and they took personal offence to the sexually explicit statues that began being mass produced and distributed across the mainland.

Would LIM ever be interested in a Square Enix property or is it just too much of a risk/hassle with how litigious they are?

Some spark was always gonna be lost between prototype and mass production. I’m just happy it actually looks like Tifa and not that ******** SD or Play Arts pull with her sculpts

Maybe that's why SuperDuck gets away with all of their Final Fantasy figure sets and SquareEnix doesn't go after them... because the sculpts never look anything like the actual character... :ROFLMAO:

Think the paint apps and hair molding are a step below Gametoys, but it's better than anything other option out right now.
