When you factor in the high barrier of entry for statues: Size, weight, price, especially the price, it’s a tough pill to swallow when an already expensive hobby is made even more expensive for no reason other than to stoke a companies ego.

It’s like declaring “our products are so special, only the elite few are allowed the privilege of owning them.”

When 3rd party produces a non licensed 1/6 scale figure of a popular character that’s been around for a long time but for some stupid reason never had a 1/6 figure…I’m buying it.
When said character FINALLY receives a 1/6 figure, and it matches or exceeds the best of the best from other 3rd parties and 1st…i’m buying it.

And if I’m being honest with myself…I’d prefer it that way. Because it means people are abiding by the rules. Rule of law, if you will. There’s no copyright infringement, no stealing and profiting off of someone else’s work or property. There’s no theft.

That being said, I want SE to stay the hell away from GT and whatever 1/6 space they may or may not attempt to squeeze into.

I know this hypocritical of me…but SE can **** off. There are many companies out there that need to be humbled, and SE are definitely among the top.

Just recently their 1/4 FFVIIrebirth Cloud statue went up for preorder…and that ****ing thing is gonna cost $2500+ (after tax and shipping)???

Why? What makes Cloud so special that someone needs to drop $2500+ on a 1/4 statue? Oh is it because it’s FINAL FANTASY?? A SQUARE ENIX property??

Gtfo here. I purchased Prime 1’s 1/4 DMC5 Dante statue that featured far more interchangeable parts and is more complex when compared to FFVIIR Cloud. That thing ran me $1300+ after tax and shipping. Inflation over the last 2 years does NOT explain a price jump of roughly $1200+.

Sales data reveals that DMC5 SOLD FAR BETTER THAN REBIRTH.

Which means the FF brand no longer carries the weight it once did and it turns out FFVIIRemake wasn’t the all powerful “break glass in case of emergency” success the company deluded themselves into thinking it was.

When you price your action figures close to $200 and feature no improvements or innovations over 2 decades, it says a lot about the people behind the brand. When you price a compilation of old games $30-$40 over what it really should’ve cost, it reeks of arrogance.

I’m glad SE are being humbled. Well..going by the pricing of their merch, they haven’t been humbled enough.

If they acquired GT or decided to produce a line of 1/6 figures, expect the following:

Varying degrees of quality. Inconsistent size and scale. OVERPRICED TO HELL. GT priced their unlicensed FFVIIAC Cloud for $200? Under the SE umbrella, I PROMISE it’ll run us $400, EASY. Why?

Because **** YOU that’s why!

i have this one, probably one of the worst statues i have. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to make
his backpack to be made out of some kind of ceramics? the straps are way too thin for that
plus the first tsurugi i think is made of the same material as his backpack which is way too heavy for this guy to hold up since its just being held by a peg in his right hand with no magnets, not to mention the secondary sword (which is made by plastic) bends overtime if you let him hold it for a long period, right now my cloud is holding the sword with a base supporting it i dont wanna go into that trouble of fixing him again.

the gabranth one is way better til this day my gabranth has no damage except for the flaking pleather cape and belt which i already fixed(his under clothing/pants are like nylon which is good)

I'm playing Final Fantasy Rebirth now on my PC, after a long wait. What an incredible game, the scene of Sephiroth entering the fire and Cloud's panicked face are impressive, I loved the facial expressions

Just finished downloading Rebirth on Steam, but I'm addicted with freaking Supermarket Simulator. I'm sorry Aerith and Tifa, but I need my grocery store to be perfect first!

Here's some quick shots of Yuffie using Tbl s16a. Body proportions aren't too bad but a tad bit too tall. I have since bought the Jiaou 19B to test to see if it's a better fit.

Overall impressions are mostly positive but I must say it was abit of a pain fitting on the clothes. The tbl silicone is grippy so you need to be careful and just take your time.

Likeness is OK, it has that generic Superduck looking face. Arm guard has a thick wire so it's hard to pose with. I think posed right it is overall a decent enough representation, who knows when GT will make theirs if ever. But for now this will have to do.

Yes I did earlier in the week. Was meant to upload sooner but it's been a wild week with the storm here..

Body is a good 1.5cm shorter and the new white colour is a good match for the head. It is slightly loose in parts, but it is a pretty good alternative if you definitely want a seamless look.

That's unfortunate. Didn't the original advertise as "genuine leather"? Maybe they played around with definitions to still do pleather-ish material? Maybe they'll offer a real leather coat to put on our older Sephiroth. I'd be down for that.

The height is good. The looseness of the thigh strap thing would bother me. Could probably make this body work for a Rebirth custom that removes that piece.

I want to try making the rebirth arm guard at some point. It's some kind of hard surface plastic or metal, so it's a good candidate for a resin print. I was hoping to start painting my headsculpt this weekend but I'm still working out the kinks on the print. Once I'm satisified with the print, I do intend to make it available.

Is it at least better than pleather? It makes sense that it would be the lowest quality leather when compared against true leather, but I'm hoping it's still a class above the stuff that crumbles in your hand...maybe they both crumble, lol.
