recent kai releases were all quite solid. assuming these look like the promo pictures then yeah, just looks like kai but with far more care put into the headsculpts.
knowing square’s QC i’d probably still wait & see how they look on release though

Likely what I’ll do. I bought a few of the FF VII Remake figures and was quite disappointed with the quality for the price. Production was quite a ways off from prototype.

Yeah we don't need anything from 16 :D easily the worst one from the whole series. On the other hand.. any chance for the rest of the 15 crew? 🥹
Lol what, 16 is the worst? And you're asking for more 15 figures? What you smoking.

FF16 has one of the best stories and some of the best characters, and easily the best performances in the whole franchise.

I have a scary amount of this preordered already haha. I started learning how to play on MtG Arena but I’ll probably just end up collecting the cards as art.

Boring gameplay, **** battle system, absolutely tragic invisible walls everywhere, meh music and the story is generic af fantasy for teens. No thank you, there's just no magic in it. I'll take 15 bromance any Day, every time :D

I will not stand for the FF16 slander going on in here...

With that said, give me the rest of the FF7 crew before even looking at Clive.
I ALMOST clicked Like ;)

I mean some of this is somewhat subjective, obviously, but just calling the battle system '****' is unwarranted IMO - even as someone who has/had always wished for a return to turn-based FF. If you wanna complain about there being no party control, I get that. If someone wants to say that it's not quite deep enough to sustain 60+ hours, I get that - but I found it fun, rewarding, cool, and pretty unique. If they wanted a single-character fully-action battle system, it's a pretty damn good one.

I don't remember many ? invisible walls. VISIBLE walls yeh - plenty of times you're in essentially corridors, but that's been true of final fantasy for a looooong time now (and some might argue forever, in a sense); they definitely needed some more reasons to explore in the more open areas, and I really don't understand given the time and budget why it should be so hard to have a few unique locations out there that you can stumble upon and meet some unique NPC or do a short dungeon. Or get a unique reward, although that goes down deeper into the systems level of the game.

Music is stellar IMO. Maybe I still love the greatest of Uematsu's more, but I love the 16 soundtrack too, one of the few soundtracks I've ever put on just as music (alongside Uematsu's stuff and the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack)

I have some issues with the main story/plot - and I'd have liked less of a lean into GOT-lite type stuff, although it changes pretty quickly and IMO feels final fantasy af soon enough. But it's the characters that stick with me and feel so real, they're so rounded and human by the time we've spent all that time with them - also the side quests, which people **** on.... yes they start as basic-ass fetch quests, but those should be seen as the first tiny segments of long side stories that continue over the course of the entire game and which ultimately give FF16 such a feeling of breadth and depth, it almost feels novelistic to me as I think back on it all, moreso than most other games I've ever played. RDR2 comes to mind as a similar feeling.

I went into 16 after a long hiatus from FF, I bought a ps5 for the privilege of giving it a go which was quite a hail mary, I was seriously unsure if I'd bounce right off it and continue to be sad and disappointed in what Final Fantasy has become. Instead I loved it and find myself sad that people keep poo-pooing it, but hey I guess I'm a hypocrite cos I was there poo-pooing them all from like FFX onwards hah. I haven't tried 15, and it's probly best I do soon just in case I love that too and want GT Noctis hah. Maybe I'm getting softheaded in my old age, or maybe I'm learning to be more open - I've had to learn to rewire my expectations and even with 16, what I love about it isn't necessarily what I once loved about FF4, FF6, FF7 my three favourites...Although you know, even by 7 it was changing. But the franchise's strengths now largely lie in different areas, although those characters - well there's a reason some of us desperately do want at least Clive. I didn't know I would, but here we are

1/6 play arts shin lightning is now available
I wonder what’s the logic behind their releases here.

Between Noctis and Lightning, they went for two of the most heavily criticized games in the franchise (but still top sellers). These are not particularly popular protagonists (at least outside of Japan).

Would have been much better to announce Cid, Cait Sith or Clive (justifiable as the most recent game).

They could always try another Tifa. Haven’t gotten her right yet with PAK imo

Play Arts shin are not 1/6 why are we still calling them that. There's even size specs listed and this new Light is 10 inches. If she was 1/6 that would mean Light is 5 feet tall which is not correct. They are essentially PAK scale, though even that can be all over the place but def not 1/6.

Would have been nice if they did hit 12" instead of being just shy. Regardless, hopefully they keep the scale consistent.
