Hi guys just wondering if any of you do something I do regular , I have realized within the last 6 months I have started about 60 customs and finished about 3 :lol. Anyone else like this ?
:rotfl

Yep! :lol Except I've really only finished 1 (dead ornament) and have one in indefinate progess (Heath Joker) and have parts waiting for another (Two-Face) and have an idea for another (surprise Batman villian).

My biggest problem is lack of money more than lack of interest. That and finding clothing for the Joker is basically impossible without making your own.

I have about a dozen " w.i.p's" waiting for that last finishing detail/piece of wardrobe/weapon ! I think it's just part and parcel of the customizing hobby .

my problem is space. I am currently in a tiny ass flat and it sucks ( I shouldn't off moved really :monkey2 ) .
If I'm gonna do a custom with my own hands and work I wanna do it right not scrunched up on the floor surrounded by collectibles boxes . :lol
Oh and money !.

my problem with finishing things is not having specific parts or spare parts on hand. i get an idea for something but since im new at this i dont really have a go to bin for the little extras. if i have an idea for something sometimes i have to buy online or ebay so that puts extra time to it & i go slowly anyway as i want to get everything just right. im sure in time with practice i will gain speed but even so im rarely 100% satisfied with anything i do. especially when posting my attempts to the board. i want to get it as best i can and always appreciate a critique on how to make it better. but my gosh i never knew that customizing was so much fun until i jumped into it. & when you are on a roll with projects there is never enough time in the day :D.

I've got a small "to-do" list of my own. The parts for different projects keep rolling in and other ideas keep popping up. I really want to get better organized and have more discipline, but it's hard when you're pulled in so may creative directions.

yep I was thinking of buying a little file to write all the ideas down that I come up with , the list of parts I need to buy and so on. Then jst knock em down one by one.
The list would always be updated and most likely never end but what the hell , its fun right ?!

Yup. I have dozens of unfinished "WIP'S". Most depend on others painting sculpts, making sculpts or me discovering sculpts. A lot of headless guys around my house. Then there's the customs needing that certain piece to complete it, or the right accessory....
It never ends...:monkey2

I find that it's easy to get started with a new custom but you always have the last part or piece of clothing to collect. I have about as much trouble finishing customs as I do po

no. no one ever finishes any custom. customs are like any other artistic medium. and no art is EVER finished, it is only abandoned.

yup same here, iv got so many customs on the go at anyone time. however iv actually only totally finished about 3 or 4 lol :D i keep getting sidtracked with other customs. iv just finished a 12" sherlock holmes figure and then decided it would be a good idea to make a 12" classic dr who cyberman :D so the head sculpt was finished on that

HAHA it seems we all have something in common here. I had a Red Dwarf set of figures in the works for well over a year. I think my Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy set will probably take that long too.

thats one reason I am now concentrating on 1/6th head sculpts and not worrying about the bodies as I can get through them quicker then let other people use them to finish off the project :D

Dean :D
