I finally got a TON of images taken for the NECA Highlander Deluxe Boxed Set. This is a pretty cool set. The Connor figure is especially nice...Kurgan could have used a removable helm...but very cool to say the least! Looks sweet on my desk at work!

Check out all the images: Green Dragon Highlander Archives

Thanks for looking!

Somebody should try making those fur skins for 12" Origins Connor and a shield. The armor could be taken from another midieval figure.

Thanks for the pics! I still haven't found this set locally, but it looks like NECA did a real nice job... its still no 1/6 Medieval F'n Kurgan... but it will work for now.

No but it will give customizers a good model to sculpt some 1:6 armor. ;)

True Dat! In just looking at pictures of the figure and comparing it to the movie it looks like NECA really did there homework. It should be good fodder for our intrepid Kustomizers!!!

I havent been able to find one either J. Must be cuase its so damn popular that no can keep it in stock. I'm just hoping that NECA releases a 12" or 18" Kurgan. That would be cool and fit in a little better in my collection.

Hmmm... an 18" Kurgan?!?

I would have to say I might pass on a larger scale... typically the NECA's don't look much better when they are biggie-sized. If it meant they would add articulation... maybe, but that doesn't seem to be the case with their past releases.

One thing I am bummed about with this set is it doesn't appear that the articulation allows for the Kurgan to be posed jamming his sword into Connor... that really should have been thought of!

Agreed, that is an essential pose for these figures. It would have been nice to have had the chance to pose them like that.

And and 18" would most likely show off more of the imperfections in NECAs sculpt. But how could I pass it up. I think I would eventually cave and have to buy it.

Yeah, an 18" figure of the Medieval Kurgan would be pretty bad-ass... could make a nice display out of him and some of the other pieces.

But what I really need is to be able to afford one of those sweet sword replicas! :monkey5 :monkey5

I was just looking at those. $500 for a signed Christopher Lambert Katana is not bad but I wish it was the Claymore. The Katana was Ramirez's. Then there's always the Clancy Brown signed Kurgan sword...

I think I'd prefer the unsigned versions... having someones signature etched into the blade seems like it would detract rather than add to it. And on the plus side its a lot cheaper.

On eBay there are a lot of people selling knock-off Claymore's, that look decent, for like $40-$50 shipped. Like this or this. I just wish someone would make a decent knock-off of the Kurgan's sword, if it saves me a ton of cash I'm not above it :monkey3

If NECA can mass produce a Medieval Kurgan, I don't see why Sideshow can't.

Just got this set a couple days ago and I must say it is very impressive. I don't buy 6 inch figures anymore and have sold most of them on ebay to pay for 1/6th habit. But these are amazing lil bastids. As far as posing these, most people will be surprised by the articulation on these, unlike most NECA offerings. Connor has more articulation than Kurgan and even has ball joined hips. Kurgan has ball jointed head and shoulders, swivel and cut elbows, cut forearms and wrists, cut waist and even has a balljointed chest under the armor. The sculpting on Kurgan is perfection. Connor is very close to the mark but not quite up there with kurgan.

Damn, if I wasnt sold before I am now!!!!! I must find these!

I now have it at least on order through a local shop... but the plus side is if I find it earlier they said I didn't have to buy it and they'd just put it in the regular stock!

So one way or the other this figure will be mine!!!

Well Typically a 6 inch figure sells better then a 1/6 one and even if it doesn't the risk is much lower. I hope this set sells good, so good NECA makes other Highlander figures. I'd prefer Sideshow but thats not happening so I guess it's NECA or nothing. I hope they make a whole line of figures. With the four movies and the series there are lots of possibilties.

Yep, and even though Sideshow isn't specifically going for retailers, NECA has a pretty good hold in the few remaining brick and mortar stores that carry figures and are a staple of online retailers. I really just wish their figures were a bit more articulated... they seem to hate elbow and knee joints

NECA could be better thats for sure, but they are better then Mc Farlane at least.

Aren't the guys working for Neca from McFarlane? I heard they had a falling out with Todd over Movie Maniacs and left to form their own movie collectibles company. I also hear Todd is an a$$hole. That's the rumor I heard anyway.
