Hi guys!

I am a Premium Format kinda guy. I love the different materials used on a piece and I think the clothing is as high of a quality you can get for a 1/4 scale. Fantasic work from Greg Mowry of Geppetto Productions...

But the one thing that can make or break a piece is the likeness and the Sculpts by Trevor Grove are second to none. There are many great sculptors out there and this is in no way a put down on the other artists, but in my opinion, Trevor can get a spot on likeness like no one else.

Gandalf is the last proof of it and if you go to his site you can see the many likeness his done for dioramas, PFs and 1/6 scale figures and know what I'm talking about.....

The way I see it, Trevor in conjunction with Geppetto productions gave us not just a Premium Format Figure, but a piece of art. That is one of the reasons I was happy about the exclusive for Gandalf because I'm getting a whole extra portrait by Trevor Grove. In my book that is a plus....

My last point is that I think it is amazing that Jack Sparrow PF, one of the most difficult likenesses to capture, was not given to Trevor, considering he is the best out there. Maybe he was too busy, or maybe Sideshow knows that somebody else can do as good of a job as Trevor, but to me, Jack is the one I've been waiting for, saving all my reward points and all, and if the likeness is not as good as it could be, then everyone will understand my point.

So, although I know the credit goes to a lot of people in a production of a piece, I wanted to dedicate this thread to Mr. Grove because he has really made my love of PFs a love for fine art.

When it comes to facial sculpts, Trevor is in a league of his own.

Just imagine if he were doing 1/6 sculpts for Hot Toys. :drool

His Raiders Indy sculpt painted by JC Hong with HT's production quality would've been legendary.

Now if Sideshow could get production paint apps to compliment Trevor's gorgeous works the world would be a better place.

thats the trouble spot.
Ive said this before, you know the entire creative crew at SS, sculptors especially, stress out waiting to see what the factory turns out as a final product..... :monkey1

.... PS: Trevor is indeed the man ....... 1 of many, but his talents are on the top tier .....

Yep, just another example of the great talent Sideshow has in their product development. Easily one of the best (if not they best) at what he does.

Can't wait to see what future projects come from him in all scales :rock
