Re: Freaktacular 2016

I'm shocked my youngest daughter hasn't asked for one of those Hatchy-thingees. She usually wants everything she sees on TV. :lol

Re: Freaktacular 2016

The benefits of a long-standing rapport with GameStop management... It isn't a Hatchimal, but I think my 11 year old daughter will love it, I know I will...

Congrats! I got mine on release day and still haven't had the chance to open it. We were on vacation, then had to come back to an insane amount of yardwork, then Thanksgiving, all added to my insane work and kid schedule. It's killing me!!! :banghead

Re: Freaktacular 2016

I reserved and paid for the Dr. Strange SDCC Pop there this past summer and when I got there, it wasn't on hold like it said it would be

I think my store is at the point where they don't **** around with me on that stuff. Last time we had an issue my wife almost killed the jackass at the counter. The manager honestly runs to the back immediately now.

Yeah. It's killing me too. I have to wait until Christmas to play it. It's a family gift.

Oh man, talk about insanity hitting the fan just after Spook finished! Luckily I was able to secure my Rogue One tickets yesterday at 12:01am after a brutally frustrating glitched Cineplex system. 75% of the tickets were sold out at a close by IMAX, and the theater I wanted to go to didn't even have them available at the time (basically the site wouldn't allow you to select dates and would lock up constantly. Some made it through the cracks, but it was a nightmare.)

In the end I was able to get solid seats for both Thursday and Friday, so I'm happy about that. They went through this with Episode VII, and yet here it was again. I already fear what it'll be like come Episode VIII.

Zod, I'm in for Secret Santa! I've gotta PM you, and I'll hopefully do so tomorrow from work, but I just wanted to let ya know here anyway. :lol

On the Hatchimal front, I actually heard about them at work a month or so ago and ordered one online for my wife. It's still sealed in the box...I should probably check to make sure it's the proper one. It's the Toys'R'Us exclusive Owlcorn or something like that.

Re: Freaktacular 2016

Thank goodness I never get hooked by whatever the latest toy craze is, nor do I know anybody who wants me to buy one for them.
I do feel bad for the parents who feel compelled to buy the latest craze for their kids/nieces/nephews/etc.

These fads always diminish with time. Tamagotchi, Beanie Babies, Tickle Me Elmo, and on and on. You can add Hatchimals to the list. Guaranteed. :dance

Yep, starting Jan 1st Hatchimals will probably be $20 on ebay.

Re: Freaktacular 2016

Reminder and the updated list

Some people have expressed interest but YOU ARE NOT ON THE LIST UNLESS YOU SEND ME A PM WITH ALL YOUR INFORMATION.

Freaktacular Secret Santa 2016

I don’t want this to be stressful for anyone—there’s already a lot going on for people this time of year—but there need to be some ground rules.

If you say you’re going to participate THEN PARTICIPATE. If anyone gets a gift and doesn’t send one then I’m personally banning them from any contests I hold here. I’ll also announce it in the Freaktacular thread so everyone knows you didn’t reciprocate. We haven't had a problem so far so let's not start now.

Gift value of around $20. If you want to surprise someone with more then that’s your prerogative—I’m sure the lucky person won't complain.

Send your gift so it will be received before Christmas, and we can all post what we got starting Christmas day.

Send me a PM with:

1. Your name and shipping address.

2. State whether or not you will send a gift internationally (one way to avoid international shipping costs may be to buy something directly from that country’s Amazon website and have it ship from there).

3. Include an license/character of interest just to give your Secret Santa an idea of what you like--this doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed anything related to it but for those that want the information they’ll have it.

4. Shirt size.

5. Preferred gaming system.

6. If you have a blu ray player.

When I get a PM, I’ll add your name to the list and keep it updated in the Freaktacular thread.

Let me know you want to participate by Friday, 12/2/2016. You’ll get paired up and information sent to you over the weekend. Gifts will probably need to be sent by around 12/15-12/17 at the latest to make sure they get there by Christmas.

The theater I wanted to go to didn't even put tickets up. I wound up getting tickets for another theater that doesn't have assigned seating. So now I have to get all five of us there early to get decent seats.

Pure awesomeness!!!

What's funny is about 2 months ago I saw a full skid of those Hatchimals at Wal-Mart and some lady walked by and pointed it out to her husband and said something like... "do you see those?... who would pay $50 for that? I don't even know what it is... some sort of animal in an egg or something..."
I bet she's on ebay right now plunking down $200 for one for her kid. :lol
:lol I saw them a month or two ago, and said WTF? I moved on... Same think with Furby years ago, and Tickle My Elmo. I always see the hot sellers on the floor, before they're hot. I probably wouldn't have bought it even if I knew it was hot, but I just find it funny how I always seem to have the opportunity to buy something I don't want. But when it's something I DO want, I can't find it for the life of me!!!

I reserved and paid for the Dr. Strange SDCC Pop there this past summer and when I got there, it wasn't on hold like it said it would be
Same thing happened to me with their Rey Exclusive Pop! And even worse, they tried to jack up the price! I was like, um, no, I paid in FULL. You can't charge me more. He grumbled, but made a price adjustment...

I got my Rogue One tix too. Thursday and Friday nights, reserved seats in DreamLoungers. 3D the first night, 2D the next night... My friend bought 4 for Thursday, and I bought 4 for Friday. Better to break up the duties, to get better seats. One friend insisted on buying his own, so he could get the rewards points. He didn't prepare in advance (logging in, seeing how the site worked, having credit card info prepared). He ended up with crappy seats, after fighting with the website for 30 minutes. I ordered immediately and had no issues. Apparently the website was hammered after that...

The theater I wanted to go to didn't even put tickets up. I wound up getting tickets for another theater that doesn't have assigned seating. So now I have to get all five of us there early to get decent seats.
Reserved seats are needed for sure! We never ever go to this theater, and hate reserved seats in general (cuz it costs more, and isn't necessary) but for a release like this, it's worth it. Nobody wants to stand in line for hours... The last time I got reserved seats before this was TFA last year! :lol

Happy belated Thanksgiving everywhere! I shopped hard and heavy last weekend. Mostly online, but I did hit Target at opening on Thursday, and went to WM after. The best deals I got actually came later online. I really didn't need to go out...

I discovered I made a bonehead move a few weeks ago. I bought a few blu-rays from target.com, and accidentally shipped them to Centurion! I had ordered his Spook prize from Target in October, and hadn't ordered anything from target.com since, so it defaulted to his shipping address. I didn't realize until last night. Sent him a PM... I feel like an idiot! Perhaps he thought I was sending him bonus Spook gifts! :lol Sorry Centurion, no such luck! :p

Re: Freaktacular 2016

I was thinking you were being so generous. I told all my friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers on the street what a great guy you are.
The funny thing is, there were 2 copies of the same movie in the shipment. I thought, "Geez kenbenobi really wants me to watch this. He probably wants me to keep one at home and the other in my car. What a swell guy!"

I will say this... it's the first time ever getting porn in the mail and it's fantastic. :duff
