I'm in shock, at both the incredible streak of luck I've had this year and at the generosity of the members here with all the amazing giveaways y'all do every year!


I was just saying in chat the other day, Spooktacular pretty much stopped being about Sideshow for me a number of years back. For me what I look forward to most all year long is just hanging out in this thread and the chat. Torturing you guys with giveaways both tricky & ridiculous, talking, joking and just generally being silly with a great group of people. Sorry for the flash glare, the puzzle has a metallic/sparkly finish that looks very cool, but makes it a bit hard to properly photograph. Also, you might notice there is a third puzzle shown in the picture, haven't figured out yet if I want to be greedy and keep for myself or do another giveaway for it...

I screwed up the crossword the first time.....and my letters spelled out MOGWAI......perfectly.....but the other letters made no sense.
!!

I got the same thing. I plugged the rest of the letters into a Scrabble program trying to figure out the other word and got garbage.

Every day you wish to attend the con, you need to sign up for a 3 hour shift (and show up 30 minutes early, and possibly leave up to 30 minutes late, so schedule around a 4 hour shift). If your shift is later in the day, you can get check in before and enjoy the con before and you are free to enjoy the con after. If you don't mess up, you're grandfathered in for the next year and have a (nearly) guaranteed spot. I've been volunteering without losing my spot for a decade. If interested, make sure you have a member ID and keep an eye out for volunteer sign ups.

This has been the earliest I've ever seen returning volunteer registration. Previously I would not even be looking for it until January (thank you social media for keeping me in the loop in case I missed the email). SDCC 2017 didn't do return volunteer registration until March this year (the latest I had ever seen it since it was introduced).
