There was a lot of nostalgic feelings with FA with me also. When the falcon was 1st shown on screen out of the corner of my eye i saw my girlfriend look at me with a big smile on her face because she knew how excited i was to see that ship on screen again.
If they did not have the Mega Death Star in FA awakens it would move up over TlJ but i was a little disappointed that they did not do something different.

Yeah, it was also laughable at how much a difference there was in size between the two.
It was like showing a golf ball, "This was the Death Star...", and then showing a basketball, "This is Starkiller Base!". Hahaha!

I just saw it and loved it! I need
To see it again, but thoroughly enjoyed it this time around.

I would put it around RotJ in my ranking:
Empire
ANH
Rogue One (although honestly these top three are about equal for me.
TLJ
TFA
RotJ (again these three are very close for me right now)
RotS
TPM
AotC

I look forward to discussing more when more of you have had the chance to see it, but I don’t get the hate some people have for it. I get that some might really just not like it (personal preference and all, I get that and it’s completely understandable), but I also feel that a good number of people are only saying they don’t like it because it’s internet-fashionable to not like it. It was a very different SW movie and I applaud them for taking a chance with it.

I think some of the hate from the hard core fans might be because of all the time and work they put into trying to figuring out who Snoke was and who were Reys parents over the last couple years. Then to have both be nothing. I always enjoyed not having all the answers. One thing i like about the OT was you got hints of who Darth Vader, Han Solo, Ben, etc was but there was still a lot of mystery so i like how they did not go deeper into Snoke and Reys past.

Of course, I’m also “That Guy” who likes The Phantom Menace a little more than Attack of The Clones. Somehow, for me, Episode 2 is at the bottom of that list even though I’m one of the only people I know who actually likes it... er... parts of it.

Attack of the Clones got good at the area fight

Yup....I think Rian knew whatever answer was given the nerd rage would be unbelievable. So he trolled all the older fans ....sorry.....no answers here.....look elsewhere. Which was th whole point of the film and people missed it. And what’s worse is they are angry and don’t get they missed it.....

From the opening shot where Luke “accepted” the saber....he was telling you that you were not going to get what you expected.

And most of the hate is from that simple face that people wanted answers and were denied what they expected.

The Last Jedi spoilers:
Here's the problem I have with that...

The mission to destroy the tracking device on the mother ship just felt really lame. Finn and Rose deduced that the First Order must be tracking them during light speed. What are the chances that these two would figure this out. Then they explained their plan on how they're going to resolve it to Dameron who easily bought into their non-proven idea. The way to disable it is to board the mothership undetected, but in order to bypass all the First Order sensors they would need a code cracker. How will they find one? With the help of Maz. Oh yeah, she also happens to be in the middle of fighting for her own life as she's explaining it to them. :slap LOL! The code cracker is on a Vegas-like setting where we see a lot of rich folks gambling their money away, money that came from the First Order for weapons (another face-palm worthy moment in the story). Instead, they end up in jail before they could get to the code cracker they were looking for. But wait...there is also a code cracker inside the same cell with them! What are the chances?! :lol

Alas, they were all able to break free and get away on horseback, successfully outrunning law enforcement on their much superior technology driven spacecraft. Thankfully, BB-8 followed the complete stranger, the code cracker (instead of the two people he came there with) and hotwired a get-away ship. Let me insert another one here... :slap

I disagree:
Pretty much everyone on the Rebel Cruiser understood they were tracked through light speed because it would otherwise have been impossible for them to have been followed. Rose is the engineer on the Cruiser who figured out and understood how the tracker would work. They called Maz because she has the best connections.
Maz didn’t seem to me to be fighting for her life when they called her; she seemed to be in the middle of a competitive shooting game similar to laser tag. Maz knew the code cracker was jailed at that casino planet and she needed to get them in the jail to meet him. So she had them go after a wealthy regular at the casino in order to get them arrested.
They escaped the law enforcement because they were part of a massive herd and broke away from the herd at the most opportune moment; leaving the law enforcement following the herd another direction. BB-8 stayed with the Code cracker because he understood this was the guy they were sent to find, and therefore, the only way to save the Rebel fleet.

Xipo, you forgot to use spoiler tags.

Nothing spoilery in that post.....it doesn’t say anything...

Just that what was expected should not be....which has pretty much been the tag line of this film for a while now...

Absolutely! I would also give ESB a 10/10 (along with ANH), but I have convinced myself that 10/10 implies a perfect movie where there are no faults and there is no such movie, in my opinion.

So basically, my 9.5/10 rating is the highest rating I will ever give any movie. :D :hi5:

"Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number?"

One of the best posts today.

Star Wars and Nerd culture is in the waining phase now.....we are seeing the push back on this culture now as we are seeing the push back on a lot of things that became mainstream the last 10 years.

That's good to hear. I'm going to get to see it a second time next week and am looking forward to seeing it after having digested what I saw.

Saw it a second time today and like others I enjoyed it much more the second viewing.

I’ll end up watching it again and see if I like it more.

In other news, my daughter watched Gremlins for the first time. It was a hit :rock

That's good to hear! I look forward to introducing my kids to Alien and Aliens when they're older. I'm very curious to see their reaction. Maybe it will look too dated for them by then.

Funny when my son was little he loved Jurrasic park. He would pick up the movie and give it to me to put in the VCR (yes that long ago) and would call them sores because he couldnt say dinosaurs yet.

I don't think he understood what was going on with people getting eaten just that there were dinosaurs
