Hey everyone. Liver got worse, retaining more than 30lbs of fluid now in my stomach, they can't find an area to tap it and drain it either. #4 on the wait list on transplant for my blood type, and they're pushing to bump me up. Can't really do anything now, being out over an hour is hard so I don't really cosplay or do conventions now... then again I can't fit into any of my costumes with 30lbs of excess weight. My actual weight is down, and my muscle mass is almost gone, it takes a good day to lift a 12 pack of pop, most days it's a struggle to get around the house. I sleep around 18 hours a day some days too, it's.. bad. Hopefully I get the transplant before Spook/Freak start so I can be active here again!

Sorry to hear man, keep your chin up. A positive outlook is always helpful in these situations. You've always seemed to keep in good spirits, so don't change that now. Hopefully the transplant comes through and this can all be put behind you.

My positive outlook has been slipping. I don't really do anything anymore, so it's hard to stay positive. It's rough just trying to play video games or actively watch any TV/Movie with decent plot. Too much damage to memory/head from the liver. Good thing is that recovers after transplant... but until then it keeps getting worse.

Unlike the rest of our body, brain cells don’t regenerate or heal much. Hopefully it’s just a static side effect and not brain damage.

Yea, it's not brain damage, just a temporary thing brought on by toxins and stuff.

Theorize: I don't know if we have ever exchanged communications on the forums before or not. Your story hits home. So I thought I would do my part to help you fight this battle. I lost a friend of mine 3 years ago this June. Primarily because he gave up on waiting. He was 32. Also waiting on a liver transplant list. Don't give up on waiting. Hang in there and keep your desire for the life you want in your forefront. Bub went through much of what you are describing. I honestly believe if he hadn't given up, he could've beat it. Instead, he checked himself into a hospice facility.
I know people make mistakes in life. His was, he literally drank himself to death. Ultimately it wasn't his liver failure that killed him in my opinion,. It was the fact that he just didn't feel he could fight anymore, even if he got the transplant. He was just scared of going back to his particular vice. He became scared of living and recovering, and he just quit. Like I said, I don't really know you, and I don't believe we have ever chatted with one another, so I hope this is well received, as its essentially from a stranger. My intentions are to encourage. As long as you have fight, and people are fighting with you, you can win and recover. Now that I am aware of this, you have another in your corner.
