Re: Spooktacular 2014

Ugh, I'm exhausted. Are the deals usually worth staying up for? I have to work tomorrow... And the day after that.... And the day after that... :monkey2

Re: Spooktacular 2014

I loved the scavenger hunt way back when. I found quite a few words but not even close to what some more determined members foufound. Last year was great as I can always do with reward points. I kept expecting them to expire as spook ended but they never did and I put them to good use. I'm curious if we'll even see spook in a couple of years the way SSC has been winding it down from previous years.

I never did buy the spook kits even though I wanted to. I really wish I had purchased the one with the plush Mort.

Also $75 for carcass????????? That's insane! I wonder what the likelihood of those kind of sales are this year.

Re: Spooktacular 2014

OK... CONTEST TIME!

This is the first of THREE contests. All are questions/guess 'em/find the hints games.

You can answer each question as many times as you want, so long as you only have one answer per post and your answers are at least 10 minutes apart to discourage crazy pointless guessing.

I will post one hint with each question to start and other hints will be made here and there, the majority in this thread but some may show up in others, as time goes on. They will not always be marked as hints. Hints for all three questions will begin being posted right away, but for now, only one question will be given. The other two questions will come sometime within the next two to three days. This is more of a search and destroy contest than a mad guessing game.

The winner of each of the three contests will be entered into the final contest (borrowing from UT here cause I can). The details of that contest will be posted when the time comes, but all three in that contest WILL be winning a prize.

What are the prizes? They lie beneath here:

This is a screenshot of the beginning of an unveiling video. Under each t-shirt is not nothing.

This is meant to go on for a while, so active participants in the thread will have the best chance of winning. I'm hoping to have all 3 answered a day or two before spook ends (hints will get stronger the further we go) so that I can schedule the final round for the 3 who move on to be on the last day of spook.

Now, for the first contest...

I got back into collecting a few years ago. I had collected a lot when I was younger, but from about ages 17-27 I didn't really collect much. Got caught up in other things. A couple years ago I was going through some old boxes and found what was left of my old collection. Most had been sold at yard sales. I found one toy in particular that made me really miss collecting. I didn't know how far toys and such had come since I had first collected, but I did some research on the internet and found out there was all this amazing stuff out there. I learned that several months earlier a really great version of that character had been released. I called some stores and on my birthday in March of 2012 and went to go buy it. What was that toy?

Hint: The original toy I found in my old collection was made by Bandai.

Begin.

Yeah, the $75 dollar deal was only for the 1st 6-7 folks who ordered it.
Then, deal over.

A fellow Freak living in Australia (can't remember his exact name) found it and

let the folks in the thread know.

Would be great to see something like that again.
