I think I am. :lol

Re: Freaktacular 2016

I keep telling myself to pick this up every halloween as I've heard it's great, but still haven't! :gah:
You'll enjoy it. It's more like a vignette of horror stories.

I wish the sequel would release soon. The theme is suppose to be The History of Halloween. Awesome!

Re: Freaktacular 2016

I'm really hoping to finally do a Halloween marathon again this year...I bought them on Blu-ray (before the box set was revealed :slap) and have the Producer's Cut and all that jazz. I love the franchise, but it's honestly been years and years since I've seen them all. Possibly even a decade since I've watched part four, five and six, so I'm really eager to see if they hold up in my mind.

We have a movie rental store not far from our apartment, and I keep renting lesser known horror flicks in hopes of being surprised. In the end I usually just end up disappointed. There are some really terrible horror flicks that fly straight to DVD. Hangman and The Devil's Woods are two that jump out as ones I put on fast-forward to finish. Just awful. Also relied on Kevin Bacon to deliver a chills-fest like he did in Stir of Echos, but The Darkness was mediocre, at best. Crawl was another absolutely rubish flick. I've just had some bad luck. I think there were one or two solid ones, but they're not jumping to the forefront at the moment. I'll try and remember them so I can throw them out as a recommendation.

I'm really in the mood for some scares this Halloween...or at least scary fun, so I'll continue to pound through what the video store releases in hopes to find a few gems. I'll keep ya'll posted.
Please do, especially if you find anything horror with a plot twist, let me know.

I just got through watching Insidious again.
Still enjoyed it. Lots of jump scares where a quiet scene is suddenly followed by a quick, loud blast of a violin, drum, horn, etc. A bit overdone in this movie. LOL!

I like the concept of the soul venturing out in a realm of spirits called 'The Further' while the physical vessel (your body) remains behind. If you venture too far away a spirit (including malevolent ones) could take over control of your vessel.

I'll NEVER tell you if a movie has a plot twist. I despise knowing that :lol I hate looking at a movie cover and it says, "Fantastic! A twist you'll never see coming!" because then I spend the entire movie trying to guess it because I KNOW it's coming. It's sooooo much more entertaining to not have any clue the twist is coming, which is why the gorram critic enjoyed the twist so much in the first place. Don't tell me it's there, let me experience it! Just one of many pet peeves of mine when it comes to movies. :lol

But I'll definitely let you know if I find any good ones. I enjoyed Honeymoon, which has Rose Leslie in it, who was Ygrette on Game of Thrones. It's about a couple that goes on their honeymoon in the woods, and things start getting weird when he finds her wandering in the woods one night. Wasn't anything to go out of your way for, but worth checking out if it's on Netflix. One to avoid is Emile, a movie about a disturbed babysitter. It's SO damn bad. I really can't believe the amount of terrible movies I rent. :lol

Creep is one that you should check out. I think it's on Netflix. You guys have more in the States, so odds are it's there. Pretty messed up flick sorta done in a found footage type style, but not really found footage. The Invitation is another one to avoid...SO drawn out and boring, and with everything crazy being crammed into the last 15 minutes, it's just blah...totally not worth the payoff.

I did love Insidious, and it holds up well. I just watched The Conjuring 2, which was solid enough. Possession movies freak me out, especially when it's 2am-3am when I usually have time to watch movies. I just let them get into my head, as I try to do with most of these, as that's when they're the most fun. When they're terrible, that's when you just can't get into it, so it doesn't let you get into the scare zone. Usually when a possession movie, or actual scary flick does it's job that late at night, it'll finish and I'll go into the bedroom and poke my wife and be like, "Hey hun, you all good? Sleeping well? Oh you're awake now? Sorry, totally not on purpose. Anyway, night!" :lol

Re: Freaktacular 2016

Yes! Definitely enjoyed The Conjuring 2.
James Wan has become a horror movie icon in my house.

Wan is superb. Always loved him. You should check out Death Sentence with Kevin Bacon if you haven't seen it! Not horror, but super graphic action...love it. Loooove it. :lol

Re: Freaktacular 2016

Sad day today. Some of you may know of my puppy Buttercup. Sadly we had to put her to sleep today. We had a good 10 years with her. :( She will be missed.

RIP Buttercup. :(

I lost one of my cats just last week, I feel your loss most keenly right now.

Re: Freaktacular 2016

Just got my 8 day notice on the spook kit, really looking forward to it this year.

When I saw this I got excited to get my 8 day notice. Didn't get it :impatient:

Then when I logged in to my account, I realized I never ordered it :slap

Of course that has been rectified, so hopefully mine will ship with everybody else's.

Re: Freaktacular 2016

Just got my shipping notice on the last pre-ordered item I had waiting...Biker Scout to go with the speeder bike that arrived earlier this year.

Re: Freaktacular 2016

I used to have this haunted house screensaver that would make owl, wolf and laughter noises, creaking doors, etc. ^^ that gif reminds me of that from way back in the 1990s :rock
