Re: FREE AT LAST [or "How the Joker escaped Leto's D-Bag Ass with Marty Scorsese's He

GL wrote the script m8.

It's GL's fault.

Hayden is decent-good in other films.
The script isn't even that bad, it's the direction, McGregor kind of pulled it off by his own skill.

I don't think Hayden is a good actor but with proper direction he could've played a good part.

Can you imagine a young Hayden working on his first movie, surrounded by green walls, people dressed in green, and Lucas mumbling and whispering his "direction" while looking at the floor, "ok..stand there, Hayden. good good....look over there...ok."

The Script is pretty atrocious. Maybe not the story, but the dialogue.

“Just being around her again is… intoxicating.”

…I’ll try spinning. That’s a good trick. Whoa-ah!”

“What if the democracy we thought we were serving no longer exists, and the Republic has become the very evil we have been fighting to destroy?”

“I have the POWER! UNLIMITED… POWER!”

“Love won’t save you, Padme. Only my new powers can do that.”

Yeah, great script. :lol

Those one liners aren't bad at all for a space opera, SW is full of those, it's well within the norm.

It's all in the delivery.

Yeah Hayden that's great, can you do it again? Just a little more dark side-y? Yeah, that's it!

Yeah, it's a disease, can you tell Snoop to clean the thread? Since OT stuff is not allowed.

Leto had the same problem, a bad director. Also, a bad script.

DiCaprio won't play the joker, so they better get Adrien Brody or Jake Gyllenhaal.

Not Adrian Brody he is terrible now, he was a good actor but now it's just for checks but jake gyllenhaal would work :)

I think they gave Leto too much freedom, combined with heavy studio meddling, Ayer hadn't been known for being such a terrible director, he was from very good to mediocre at worst, but SS was a whole lower lever.

Even his Netflilx show looks like a much better achieved SS.

But yeah, I don't see DiCaprio touching this genre.

You've definitely got a fair point there. Okay guys lets take SW discussion to the appropriate threads. Thanks.

He may if he doesn't like the idea of working for Netflix, most all big budget movies nowadays are part of the genre, which is why we see so many big name actors working on Netflix movies. Artsy fartsy independent film is all but dead

Anyone who wants to talk about Batman's sidekick WITHOUT using it as a juvenile excuse to have a field day with the language filter go right ahead.
