Check your local Humane Society as they have been doing free kitten/cat adoptions all over the country.

They did in Austin and all cats went but 2. They need a good, loving home and I am hoping that there are some people here in Austin that might have room in their family for another little one. I would adopt the adult cat, as they always seem to get left behind, but it's a female and my oldest male attacks them.

Anyways, just wanted to let everyone know, who might be interested in finding an addition to their family, to check out the humane society. Make these little ones feel special/loved.

You can also do fostering at most Humane Society's, so check into that if you're interested.

Really, people need to spay/neuter their pets. I can't believe how many cats roam our neighborhood. Even animal control won't pick them up (not that that's the best solution anyway) since there are so many.

My cat was rescued from a box left by some railroad tracks (some people!). We've had her for over 10 years now.

People throw cats out around here all the time. I hate when they stop their car in the middle of the street and dump a kitten off. I can't tell you how many times I've had to run out and pick the poor thing up before it gets hit.

Human can really suck sometimes!

Just adopted a cat a couple weeks ago. Ziggy is one cool little dude.

Good job!!! Ziggy looks awesome and adorable.

We adopted him at a local Petfood Express. The shelter he came from spays/neuters, de-worms him. He's had all his check ups and is good shape. So for $100 bucks you know you're getting a healthy kitty that's ready for adoption.

Places like Petfood Express and Petco will in turn give you 20% off of cat supplies and 10% off of food so you're more inclined to pick up the stuff you need on site. Seemed like a win-win.... Now I just need to make sure my 2 year old son doesn't manhandle Ziggy. :dunno

Adopted my cat Jezebel from the S.F. SPCA 8 years ago. :D

9 years ago I adopted Phoenix from a pet store, but I adopted Bailey-Reed 2 years ago from a bush outside. He was being pushed out of the food by his siblings as he was so tiny and not strong enough. I decided to bring him in at 5 weeks because he was going to die. The rest of the kitties made it to the shelter sometime later, and I hope they were adopted. It was a no kill shelter. Bailey-Reed is 2 and healthy/happy. He happens to be the sweetest thing, and I have a feeling it's because he knows he was saved.

I have a feeling it's because he knows he was saved.

I think so. I know some people think animals are pretty stupid but I think they have some understanding (whatever you wanna call it) that they're in a safe environment and are protected. I think my cat came from an abusive situation because it took her awhile to adjust. Now she's completely at ease.

Are you a bay area dude, Devil??

Yessur!
