The film was great, the music is brilliant. I'm not a soundtrack nerd like alot here, but the song that she sings while building her ice castle is really enchanting. My daughter plays it alot and I love hearing it, it never gets old.

There's just something to Let It Go that makes me smile. It is enchanting. Not gonna lie, when I got back from the theater I downloaded it.

I hate when Disney releases a single from one of their movies with someone other than the actor singing the song, seems like a slap in the face to the actor. I think in the case of Frozen they had Demi Lovato sing the song.

Yup. I'm getting tired of saying, "No, that's Idina Menzel. Demi Lovato can't sing like that."

She's a cute kid and all, but her pop/rock version is zilch compared to the real song.

Night and day, Lovato does not evoke the emotion that Menzel does. Even the music is better on Menzel's version imo, opening with the piano keys rather than singing from the first note like Lovato does.

One will go down as a timeless Disney classic and I think the other will go down as, they made another version of that?

Absolutely, Menzel illicits much more passion and emotion from her singing than Lovato, not to mention just having a more accomplished voice (IMO). I think it's Disney thinking they have to hit all the target demo points and release something with "star power" to capture the tween audience or something, even though they already had them with this movie.

I remember buying my girlfriend at the time the single for that Aladdin song, "A Whole New World", only to see disappointment on her face when it turned out to be the other version with (had to look it up) Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle.

Menzel's got the vocal power of a younger Celine Dion. I didn't know who did the singing, but I saw Lovato thrown around and just thought, "No way that's her."

The movie had some great songs, both powerful and just entertaining (especially Olaf's summer song). I was surprised to find out who did the voice of Olaf, because Gad is usually violently unfunny in anything he's in. He had some great material to work with, but still - he did a fantastic job.

Since 2009, Walt Disney Studios has released - Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Winnie The Pooh, Wreck It Ralph, and Frozen. That is an incredibly solid lineup. It's no Little Mermaid - Lion King, but considering a lot of people had somewhat written the animation studio off, good for them to keep putting out quality.

No contest hear at all. Demi's has a stupid pop thing going on and just has nothing on the original. The original is emotional and you can feel the characters feelings pouring out into the song. Demi's version is just a cheap pop cash in for the kids.

I'd still like a nice traditional movie like Frog once in a while. But Disney has shown that moving to computer animation doesn't mean a cheap movie experience.

Menzel seems to be the unanimous winner.
There's no doubt in my mind that her version is superior.

Speaking of Olaf's Summer song...

As soon as he was done singing, I love how Kristoff says, "I'm gonna tell him!"
