I got Duke yesterday. I NEVER mod my figures, but I really cannot stand the gold and that durn orange watch.
So basically I painted the shin guard lowers and kneepads with Tamiya dark iron and painted the red knuckles and orange watch black. Makes a dramatic difference I think.

He looks great either way. You made him very ARAH-era looking, nice job. I don't mind the pop of color with the updates though either.

I can really appreciate your cutom paint.
I had that very same I idea if I started with the line. But it just seems like so much work in light of all the figures they will hopefully make that may need some tweaking.
Great job though! Stick with it!

My preorders of Scarlett and Duke on Amazon arrived last week, overall good figures, but I hate the excessive colors and lack of accessories. Love the sculpt and paint on Duke's portrait. Mine has eyes painted more off to his left side but it adds some personality and is appropriate for sighting down his rifle poses so I'm happy. He's missing some forearm paint on his right forearm at the shirt cuff, it sucks but looks like some of the fabric just isn't rolled up properly. Scarlett's paint is perfect, I've seen reviews of Scarlett and have noticed some wonky eye paint, I lucked out.

My biggest issue is with the costume design... ugh. Why does Duke have armored grieves with bullet holes and yet he decides to run around without an armored vest????? Why no helmet/helmeted portrait for Duke? A bright orange dora the explorer wristwatch, wtf? How is his backpack supposed to stay on his back without straps, magic? Why aren't the entrenching tool and canteens removable from his pack? No extra hands? Scarlett's main problem is the overall costume design, better colors would've made it more acceptable. I still hate all the metal armor bits. Her headsculpt just looks too young and that stupid shoulder pad should've been made removable. I hope we get a more RAH faithful figure in the future with a more adult looking head and I can just throw this in the background as Scarlett's young niece Ruby or something.

At least Destro looks really well done and I can't wait to get him!
Still need to preorder reg. Snake Eyes too.

What a weird biomechanical looking pistol. Seems more like something from eXistenZ than GI Joe. Bummer that they aren't including his iconic laser pistol in either release like they did with SE's Uzi.
