Thank you! I got a few stragglers back in the day from 88-89 and nothing from 90 on.
I’d say there’s only about 15-20 Joes left that I absolutely want.

I hope they redo Dusty V1 into something else. Maybe he'll get a "retro" reboot. V1 is just disappointing. The helmet doesn't stay on right and it doesn't have 'soft goods' in the draping section behind his neck. That was such a huge iconic aspect of the original figure. The odd "skirt" thing where it's supposed to be his belt plus a shirt/jacket extension is just weird. No pistol. Odd and totally useless chest harness. Backpack doesn't really stay in on it's own.

I don't know how the rest of you guys feel about it, but Dusty is IMHO a figure theme with unlimited potential. I just don't see how Classified missed on that one. Or maybe I stand alone in that assessment.

Not having the cloth was LAME! Absolutely needs a 2.0 done right with some soft goods.

I was able to pre-order Crystal Ball through Walmart. 🤞

Good luck, everyone to those that want one.

And I guess I’m displaying mine with the Dreadnoks. He does kind of fit in with them.

I didn't want CB, but one of my buddies off this forum did, he texted me the hoops he had to jump through to try to get one. I'm not sure what the solution is for stuff like this. CB is the kind of figure that would clearly sink as a widespread mainline release with a sizeable edition run. He'd be the new Lando Skiff Guard. But there has to be a better way to let hard core fans each at least get one if they are putting in the effort to get one.

Maybe Hasbro Pulse can assemble arcane Classified guys into lots of 5. I.E. Five different guys, but themes and characters that might really struggle at retail mainline. And then crowdfund it like they would the HISS or Razorcrest, etc, etc. Like Captain Grid Iron and Clean Sweep, would they really sell in huge numbers?

I guess there's always the fallback of releasing a carded retro version later. Too complicated. I'm so glad I am not a completist with this line.

Yeah, Dusty is in my top 3 or 4 Joes, but I never pulled the trigger on the Classified version because it seems so subpar. This is despite their apparent attempt to replicate the classic character look. Room for improvement!

Not my figures, but bigger goggles make a huge difference. Also using a plate carrier.

What is this blasphemy where Dusty is an English person. Pshaw! :D

This makes me wonder, did Action Force change the nationality of the Joes? I would guess they would have to to make it an international force.

Dusty is one of my favorites and is in need of an improved release, I doubt they'll ever give us cloth havelocks though, the Classified production team seem to not try hard on extra features. Classified Dusty however is always discounted so I'm afraid the lame looking V2 Dusty has a better chance than a V1 redo.

I managed to get a pre-order in for Crystal Ball at Walmart before the sell out, still checking on Breaker everyday with no luck.

So, since I've been doing Classified for the past year, something I've observed, is on the secondary market, it's tough to find good vests for a mostly reasonable price. (i.e. if a vest loose alone is 15, and a Classified figure itself boxed and new is 25, well you see where I am going with all this)

Something I considered is like the video above, making core vests out of black duct tape and cardboard as a base. Then I can use leftover 1/6th scale pouches, webbing, straps, etc to fill out the outside. Since nearly all of us were also 1/6th military collectors ( still currently or formerly), things like 1/6th cloth ammo pouches or even molded ones aren't hard to find. Now I can't use a molded 1/6th AK47 pouch, but how about pistol pouches? Or the small utility pouches that came with all the early molle kits. Also anything I can cannibalize off of other figures. Like the McFarlane Arkham Knight, he comes with two close to useful scale grenades ( handy) plus look at all that molded on pouches he has that can be detached then reworked onto a vest. There's A LOT you can strip from the Arkham Knight figure, just look at it. You can even pry off the chest plate and shoulder guards, plus the forearm bracers and shin guards likely slip off too.

Point I'm making is 1/12th is small enough where a failure in high detail is implied. Would a plate carrier base made out of cardboard and black duct tape be that observable as ghetto rigged if it was done right?

Sorry guys, I like to make customs/kitbashes, and I cannot justify to myself spending 12-15 on a single loose vest from Valaverse ( i.e. tax and getting it shipped, all that too), when a new Classified is 25 bucks. The reason I bring it up is when talking about Dusty, maybe we don't see more Dusty customs out there is because there's a scarcity of vests out there. Well cost efficient ones.
