yeah thanks man, you have to forgive the mess since this is in my 7yr old sons room

the stands aren't finished yet but they're just acrylic rod cut to different lengths. i put them on there just for the pics and took them down for now since they didn't have a bases on the top or btm yet and i didn't want them to fall over.

now i just have to get the doom and apoc exclusive versions.

They do look great i bet your son loves u

yeah it was kinda funny when i took them out of his room to redisplay them in my modified LAK shelves from ikea and he was all upset because i was taking HIS statues out of his room

I think maybe its supposed to emphasize his size. Surfer isnt ACTUALLY smaller then Wolverine's head lol. Its a scale indicator.

So maybe they figured a smaller name plate would make the G-man look bigger relative to the other busts. The eye tends to determine relative size with visual reference points. If you have the name plate displayed next to its respective bust Galactus looks bigger because your brain imprints the last 5-10 seconds of visual observation and thus unconciously compares the difference in size between Galactus and his nameplate, and other busts and thier nameplates.

Quad chose to display all of the name plates together WITH galactus...which is why its noticable.

Yea, but even when the nameplates are all displayed next to their respective bust, it does look noticeably smaller than the rest. I have it displayed like that, and unfortunately the first thing you notice is not how big Galactus is, but how small his nameplate is. Plus you already have the surfer in there for scale purposes, so the smaller plate for scale purposes wasnt needed. If the nameplate was bigger it would have done more justice to this GREAT piece.

Oh man, the pics in this thread are awesome. I have preordered the Galactus Bust here in Germany. But the "release" was postponded to an later date. I hope I will get Galactus until christmas.

I never liked the busts so much, but this one is really, really great and it will look very cool with some other Silver Surfers around Galactus.

Galactus Legendary Scale Bust 663 of 1250

Definately the best LSB I own or have seen, perhaps the best bust SS have done really, it's excellent! So glad I ended up getting one.

This was my first LSB, it is quite impressive! Just wish it was looking up a tad more. You have to display this one high folks!

So annoyed with play. I've had it on pre order for ages then come the release day it shows up as temporarily out of stock. Phoned them up and they said they had sold out?! So I then order through forbidden planet u.k only for play to now show it as a p.o again! Lol. Best get one of them cancelled when I'm back off my hols or I've galactus twins!
