A little kid was in there with little toys called skylanders that somehow are video game pieces and wanted to trade some of his for some of the comic dealers. The kid did the trade and left and the comic douche ..ahem I mean dealer was bragging about how he got over on the kid. I mean I knew he was lowlife before but that took the cake. That's the story in a nutshell

That's terrible.

Even so, I did give the kid a free lollipop later so I'm not such a bad dealer. :( Just misunderstood.

I know right. I would love to have this, but not at that price.

I love this statue, but missed my chance to buy it from an online retailer for retail price. I wasn't willing to buy it for $600 then and def not paying 1k for it now. I do envy those who were able to aquire this for retail though. For me personally its not worth much more than retail, but thats just my opinion.

This thing is really selling for $1,000? That's ridiculous.

It's a PF that is generally accepted as very well done and has had a natural increase in value on the aftermarket over time that wasn't overly forced by flippers like recent releases. I'm not sure if it should be going for $1000 for the EX, but this is a real example of how a good statue will gain actual value, not hyped inflation.

Yeah, this one has been gradually increasing in value as more pics of this surface due to the incredible sculpt and use of mixed media. I knew it would be a hit since the day I ordered it but when I got it in hand I was even more taken aback by how well done it was. His cig. face sculpt to me ranks as the best ever done on a statue. Even the translucent energy cards (which I thought looked really cheesy in gallery pics) were extremely well done and looked spectacular in person. The pictures really do it no justice and it's really a miracle we see this guy in 1/4 scale glory. This will probably stay the best Gambit ever done. My only regret is I didn't get one more to custom paint :(

Great post! The EX also had an ES of 750 which is somewhat low considering the popularity of the character, quality of the sculpt, and increasing interest in Sideshow. The Gambit EX PF is one of my favorites and I am grateful I was able to get him through Sideshow direct!

^ Nice!

Gambit was sold out by the time I started collecting last year, so in my case it made sense to just go for a regular, which I got. I'm very happy with my decision because he was on the rise when I started and has steadily gone up since then, so waiting for an affordable Ex wouldn't have happened. He's one of my favorite characters anyway so I just had to jump on the 1st good opportunity. Even Regulars are expensive at this point. Not quite grail, but very strong potential.
