Well, if he is an HT-styled portrait, that and the wardrobe and accessories, given they're the same quality as the proto, is enough to warrant the cost I think, and since so far all the first figures on new bodies have had their issues, I'd rather Gandalf on a body that may not be great but you know what you're in for.

I'd be happy with all that. When i look at frodo it's not even like looking at another SS figure, it's like someone else did it totally. So if the HS is HT style and the Tailoring good i can forgive the buck.

I don't think slow boat from China, I'm guessing backlog of product in the warehouse to clear out before dealing with new arrivals.

You'd think SS would have time to at least post prod pics of the final Gandalf in the meantime.

Normally ya, I'm thinking the marketing group may be occupied with Spook preparation, photographing the new products for it, making the materials for the event. It may also be a case that the final product is so close to the prototype, they don't feel an urgency to post new images because we have a rough idea what we're getting. They also tend to hold production photos off for Newsletter stories, and given the lack of LOTR products, it'd give them an article for this week, so there's always a chance there'll be some tonight.

Looking at the pics on SS website i just noticed that the sleeves can be pulled over his hands to make that semi-gloved appearance. This is most noticeable in scenes after the fellowship have left Rivendell, especially when Gandalf is examining the mirthril veins in the rocks in Moria (extended edition)... that's nice attention to detail! I imagine that the sleeves can also be messed with if we wanted to pose Gandy without the glove/mittens look.
