I'm sure glad I pre-ordered it the other day. This piece has some potential. Looks real good, small edition size, cool exclusive.

I am sure once SDCC rolls around and more and more people see it, it's popularity and demand for it, will only increase.

The early SSW pieces are "rumored" to have some really low edition numbers, which I think they do. Balrog actually took awhile to sell out at 1000, Sam and Bill is said to have an edition size of 500 but we will never probley know for sure.

It's funny that you mention Sam and Bill, because that's the same feeling I get when I look at the pics of this bust. I remember trying to tell people over at the LOTRG forum how nice it was, and that they would regret passing on it, but no one listened. And look at it now.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see this bust achieve similar value over time.

450 pieces for the Exclusive and its SOLD OUT!!!! Wow!! Guys we did really well to get this thats one of the fastest ever and would I be right in saying thats its the lowest ES ever for a bust or statue from SS apart from the Newborn Uruk Hai? Makes it all the sweeter now!!

There is still the regular version with an unknown ES, so not quite the lowest ES as you stated, for a LOTR piece yet? Since Gandalf is very popular, I doubt it will. I had the chance to order this, but passed. Truth be told, the regular will drop in price which is good for us on a budget .

Cloud I am referring to the Ex edition of 450 not the regular edition (if you read the title of the post) and I think it is the lowest ever ES from SS for LOTR.

It pays to put your order in early when edition size is TBD. I did and am glad I have one of the 450. I don't have any of the other LSB series as the price is out of this world and they are duplicates of other pieces. I have Cave Troll Bust, why would I throw down hundreds for another bust of the troll? I think the $150 price is much more reasonable. I like the interchangeable staff, great idea.

It's a catch 22 situation. When alot of people order these TBD editions it usually means a higher ES in the end. When you don't, SS suddenly stops taking pre-orders and announces the item to be sold out.

If you've ever seen the LS cave troll you would know why. It is superior to the 1/4 scale bust in every way possible. I agree in that I don't really see the point in having duplicates of the same subject, which is why I sell off my duplicate 1/4 scale busts every time a new LS bust is announced.

I am not worried. I got on minutes after the newsletter went up. If I can get a Doom legendary bust off the wait list with an es of 100, I should be able to get an item with an es of 450.

Well for what its worth, I like the "Additional" staff better than the standard on this one too.

The second staff is made of wood only, there is no crystal so there is nothing to light up.
