General Complaint-Sideshow Gift Cards

Not sure if this is the appropriate forum or not, but I feel like Sideshow should have allowed their gift cards to be used on pre-order or wait list items if the item was due in stock before the expiration date of the card. Right now the Sideshow shelves are pretty bare in terms of 1/6th stuff and I'm having a hard time finding anything that I want to use my card on. I can't even find anything that might make good "trade" fodder down the road. My only hope is that some waitlist items convert to instock before my card expires.

gift cards can't even be used on most in-stock orders today. It can only be used on a selective items.

Upon closer examination it would appear that the gift cards are only good for in stock items that have been "warming the shelves". A good way to move inventory but it kinda sucks. The gift cards should be a "reward" to the customer. I spent three months waiting and $170+ on a HT Wolf Pred fig to get a $30 gift card so items that don't fit into my collection.

It's a great way to move stagnant inventory. And although it does indeed suck you can't use them on new pre-orders, I completely understand why SS decided to do this, makes good business sense.

Like I said, wait till the sales during spooktacular. additional items will be put on giftcard list and you will be able to use them then. It's the best time to get rid of them.

Your customer "reward" is your rewards points. Those can be used on pretty much anything. Did you preorder that Wolf Pred because Sideshow promised a gift card? I highly doubt it. ^^^^^ing about free stuff is pathetic.

You can always put it on eBay and get something for it if you don't want it, or if you don't think you'll use it, give it to another freak. Some have done that so others can get Hobbits.

The gift cards are like buy one get ones at the store. You wind up spending money on something you wouldn't have bought in the first place because you're getting a good deal by saving money. If there's nothing you want I say let it go, it's not like you're actually losing something.

Yeah, Sideshow gift cards aren't like gift card from most stores. As has been pointed out, they're really a promotional tactic to encourage people to buy slow moving items. That said, you can sometimes get some fantastic deals with them, if there happens to be something that you want available for gift card use.

I also agree with the idea about waiting for Spooktacular. Assuming it's like last year, there should be a lot of stuff that you can use them on during that week.

They should call them Hobbit Cards at this point.

No, Tom misread his post, you can't buy Gift Cards; they are only given away at big events and during online promotions. They are only good on certain in stock items; go to the Gift Card page and it will show you exactly which items are eligible,

This last promotion, I got a $40 card, after buying 3 POTC Cosbabies. I also have two $50 cards. If I don't find something I like before they're close to expiring, I'll give them up. I wish I liked that Luke and Yoda PF. I just don't like Luke's face.
