I'd love to give them up, but I'm in the Potter busts for the long haul - the exclusives are a must have again this year (unlike the LotR ones). And if they are going to be doing 1/6 Trek - they've got me by the cojones.

The HP line is by far one of their best. This is one of the lines I'd love to collect. Once again the exclusive Weasley busts are a bad choice for an exclusive. :( That is a must have for HP fans.

The LOTR bust on the other hand is an excellent choice for an exclusive.

The Potter line is awesome and this means that I will continue to give 'em my cash.

I thought that the Weasleys were going to be readily available at a couple of cons? Isn't the Were-Lupin the exclusive?

I've given up on GG a while ago, even to the point that I sold off their SW animated line. Just too much bullpoodoo for me to deal with.

Eventually, I may just sell off the rest of their stuff.

I'm sticking with GG, I think their lines are great, the HP line can't be beat. The Animated LOTR line is another awesome line. As far exclusives only a few SW Busts were going for alot on ebay. I had no problem getting the HP & LOTR exclusives last year for around retail prices.

Its funny though, if the edition is too high people complain and if its too low same thing. Isn't the part of collecting trying to get things that are hard to get. I think 90% of collectors today only care about flipping value. What happened to the real collectors, its just crying now. Or I canceled my order, why did you order it in the 1st place. I wish SS got rid of its cancelation policy, and charged when the order was placed.

You said it brother! As an affiliate I'd love to see them change the cancellation policy - make all orders like flexplay so there's a penalty for cancellations.

But I can see the other side too. Part of their awesome customer service is that if you aren't happy than you can get your money back, no problem. So more people might return it than cancel and we have a significant administration problem.

I have to agree about the HP line. Those busts are really well done, and they are some of the only quality items out there for Potter collectors--unlike Star Wars, where so many companies are making things that there is a lot of competition for our dollars.

The problem I have with that is most of the people that complain are real collectors. This company doesn't value real collectors in my opinion. If they did they would give everyone a fair crack at getting these. Charging people for a CHANCE to maybe get an exclusive is just absurd. I also don't think people are crying about the edition size. I for one don't care if they are say 100. Just give me a chance at getting one. Also it appears that others are starting to notice and just aren't dealing with them. The last 4 busts that I bought are now on sale over at BBTS for around $29.99. I wonder why.

Why should Sideshow change their policy. They show you prototypes when you pre-order. Not the final product. It seems kind of unfair if they would take the ability to cancel. What if you don't like the final product. The second problem with that is ship dates. Sometimes stuff all seems to come at once. Granted some people can prepare for it as do I. However, some people are suprised by this and have to cancel at the last minute. Let's face it, if it is a good piece it will sell out. The third issue I have with that is the whole preorder process. If they take away cancelations then they should just take away pre-orders. That way we don't have to worry about something selling out before we see and approve of the final product.

I am sure Sideshow would see a lot less orders if they changed their cancellation policy. In my opinion it's one of the very best around and keeps me coming back for more. If it was to be taken away, I would just stop ordering things altogether probably because there is no way to predict whether or not you will be able to swing a $300 collectible 6 months in the future. Life happens and most of us are not very wealthy people. I think their policy is just another example of how great Sideshow tries to be to their customers. Sure they want to make money and keep the sale but they don't want you to be afraid of placing an order either.

More valid points. :lecture

Well said. I agree 1,000%. :rock

I think Badmoon and Rory really summed up the policy well... and just part of the reason why Sideshow is such a great company for the fans

SS does have the best customer service but I think people take advantage of it. I believe alot people place their order just to see if they can flip it later.

But SS also makes hard to get exclusives, Grey Hulk/Spidey, Hulk PF, Yoda/Dooku Bronze etc. I missed some of these and it was no big deal, I remember hunting down alot of SS/WETA LOTR pieces and it was fun, thats what I thought collecting was about. I think the Exclusives make it more interesting, if GG and SS had no exclusives, no rare or low editions what fun would that be.

wtf? lol that will be the end of preorders. i'd like to see them do that and see how it benefits you as an affiliate....

I think most of SS's appeal is that you CAN preorder sometihng and change your mind later because most of the time what you are preordering is not the final product.

I was planning on getting their Clone Armour Obi-Wan, but then Sideshow suprised us with theirs and...well...it's not too hard to guess which one I went for...

If I wasn't hooked on the LoTR Animaquettes and HP Bust-Ups I would be done with GG. Hopefully I don't get sucked into any other lines....

If the pictures posted on the site were actual production pictures not prototypes and they were in stock then I would say yes. But charging for something that may not ship for 6 months to a year and you don't even know what the final product will look like wouldn't be fair IMO.
