I will probably get this, because I am such a sucker. I want to see the deleted scenes the most.

I guess you don't know about the 100 episode TV series that is in the works. Don't know too many details other than it's supposed to cover those years. I wouldn't expect too much Vader though.

Yeah, I know about the series. But it has been confirmed that Vader won't be in it. I want a movie (or TV show) that has Vader with James Earl Jones, showing how Vader helped take over the galaxy.

Imagine a Star Wars TV show with the same quality as Prison Break. Now THAT would be awesome!

Justin I'm with ya. Something like the book that just came out recently telling how Vader did what he did to become so feared.

Maybe anamorphic versions of the OT will be included.

LOL

;)
:lol That would be nice. I'm still excited about the other but would prefer as most do they be anamorphic.

So when does the complaining begin about the alterations to the PF?

"They put a stupid CG character in for puppet Yoda? That's f#@%^ insane! I remember Yoda as an ugly-ass puppet and that's how he should remain for all eternity! And cutting out most of Jar Jar's scenes? He was my favorite character! George what are you doing man!??!!"

PF Dave? Freudian slip there? :lol

I dunno if I'll buy these or not. It will depend on two things, if the deleted scenes are incorporated into the movie that will make it more tempting OR if the set is really really pretty. I'm a sucker for presentation.

I know I don't have to get it, but I probably will. I guess I'm a completist when it comes to the different version of the films.

I will get it along with the ones in Sept. They are not that expensive and I like the fact that I have all the versions. I have all of the VHS ones too.

Well i guess Im a sucker for buying Star Wars. I already have the OT twice on video and once on DVD, twice two weeks from now. I will be getting these but how much do you think these could be I say at least $100. Maybe they will include a small Sideshow polystone piece with them like what happened for LOTR that would be cool. If George truly wanted to give the fans what they wanted he would do this make it a 10 disc set (Disc 1 - 6 the Special Special Special Editions of Episodes I - VI, Disc 7-9 the original theatrical releases of Episodes IV - VI with a new transfer and restoration and anamorphic, Disc 10 full of extras including every deleted scene that could possibly be found for all 6 movies).

Overall I cant wait to see the original Star Wars Trilogy for the first time on DVD when they release the new set September 12th.

I wouldn't buy the set, but I would get a new Episode 1 if they got rid of the puppet. It just looks wrong.

I'll be getting it. I just hope there is an option were you can choose which version to watch (ie, theatrical, VHS, TV, DVD, Special edition, etc., etc.). It'll be cool to see what GL does with the PT besides the digital Yoda in Ep1 (which is a great improvement). I hope he adds Yoda's trip to Dagobah in Ep3.

I will most likely get this. I will definately get it if the deleted scenes can be incorporated into the film and it has the theatrical versions as well.

...but I HATE ANH Jabba though, yikes!

I used to feel the same way, when I saw it in theaters. Then they made major improvements to him for the DVD release. Mu-u-uch better.

It is better, but I can live without it. Well, as long as Shaw is still Anakin and Han shoots first, not much for me to whine about.

I love Star Wars. I love democracy. And my first act as a SW sheep in 2006 will be to purchase the grand release of the OOT on DVD. These DVD's I will gladly put aside when the increasing threat of subpar picture quality is laid to rest with an anamorphic release!

Here, here!

ATTENTION GEORGE!

This is your chance to redeem yourself!

HAN SHOOTS FIRST!

just had to throw that in there.

If there is one new addition to the PT besides CG Yoda in TPM it would be: QUI-GON's FRIGGEN FORCE GHOST in ROTS!! :monkey4

ps. I seriously doubt even George would replace the puppet Yoda in ESB and ROTJ. :monkey5

I agree, Qui-Gon's ghost shoulda been in ROTS, that whole part felt (to me) like Lucas completely forgot about it and tossed it at the last minute. Another addition that would piss people off but I don't care I'd like it would be for Qui-Gon's ghost to be at the end of ROTJ. For some reason I would really just like to see Qui-Gon with Anakin.

And yes, we need to return to Han shooting first. Aside from the picture visibly jumps due to the change, its just dumb that Greedo shoots then misses and Han kills him.
