How come those haters seem to be in the majority? And also interesting how these "haters'" points are so valid that they are currently discussed in film schools as exactly what to avoid when making a movie.

Funny how this "definitive vision" changes every few years.

Yeah...I'm sure GL thinking about "the majority" as he makes his weekly bank deposits:lol

Oh yes! Those are Prequel $$$ bo'tches!!! Myself and a whole lot other people must enjoy his "corny" popcorn flicks but people will read into it whatever gets them to sleep at night or whatever gets them a passing grade. If your are a professor on these forums and you have something to add, just remember I'm not counting C-College Crowd...not there is anything wrong with that mind you, but if we have so many stellar instructors within our campus's, how come the majority of Hollywood can't come up with a original idea???

GL... if your lurking on these forums, the only thing I have to say to you is..."Man up!!!" I'll see you at the movies this Friday.

You are a super fan boy Star Wars geek (i can tell :lol) and l am sure Devil is twice your age.:lol

When you mak a movie and is released you leave it alone. I doubt we will see Peter Jackson in 10 years changing all sorts of stuff in the LOTR and even if he wanted too i'm sure he knows better, GL does/did not.

:lol-You'd be suprised! Only Irish comes close.

Actually I love how everyone drops the Peter Jackson card. It's like you never heard of any other director. Of course it's not possible for him to make a lemon...jeez no one even talks about King Kong anymore?!?

Oh wait, another remake/re-boot wasn't it!?!

Anyway, at the rate PJ grinds out movies, by the time he retires he'll be on track with GL.

Richard Donnor had a line in one of his series..."I'm getting too old for this ____!"

Probably he's tossing in the towel because of this:

Heya, all!

Talked with our Red Tail Project contact (https://www.redtail.org/) at the museum last week about this. George Lucas had a screening of the movie for them, and after it was done, noting the looks on several members faces, stated something to the effect that he is not concerned with accuracy as much as making a film that will be successful. Sort of the old tactic of saying "based on actual events"!

Well, it'll still be an entertaining flick (I really, really hope!) and as long as it gets some people interested in the Tuskeegee Airmen and WWII aviation in general, it's a good thing.

Bingo

SW haterz are lame, but the apologists take the cake!!

I don't eat cake...bad for you. 'Sides, I have standards to maintain:nono

And just so you know an "apologist" is someone whom you imply cares about your feelings and wants to make amends. For the record, I wouldn't want to speak for GL, but by myself, I couldn't give a ____ about your "feelings"!

I guess I'm not sure how this news makes a whole lot of difference to anything as far as Star Wars goes. He's 67 so if wants to retire more power to him. He wasn't planning to make anymore Star Wars movies, so the idea that the fanboys inadvertantly sabotaged the franchise by constantly whining seems quite the stretch.

He sounds bitter, and pissed LOL. I know mass amounts of fans despise the prequels and his re cuts and mass marketing but im not really mad. I love the originals and i see them as stand alone epics, all the other spinoff shi* doesnt bother me, its just more into the mythology.

For some odd reason i think Lucas is feeding into this end of the world 2012 bolgna ( i hope :) ) and going to retire, into a space station bunker.

i recently watched the original trilogy and its so amazing, classics. i do respect lucas a great deal, as a director, story teller and movie buff.

Um, hello Prequel fan here! Even like Jar Jar. *Hides behind desk and awaits flying trash.*

Quite honestly if he's retiring; um who's maintaining the SW franchise? Rick? Filoni? Unidentified Lucasfilm CEO? Yoda Puppet?

Ehh...he's trying to make an action flick targeted at African American youth. No big secret there! He's claimed it himself and admittingly addressing some of the criticisim of the white washing of his movies, especially our beloved OT, as well as the Jar Jar bating!

Going so far as to hire on one of his harsher critics to do writing on the movie.

His own words amount to...Black youth don't have enough John Wayne movies that idolize the "real" hero's of our Nations History. And why not? Us white folk have plenty of those movies to glorify our contributions during the Great War, why not them???

But then again, I'll get accused of being an apologist because GL really is socially aware and contributing.:monkey1

So this is how liberty dies? :lol I assure you George Lucas will be quite operational when you're friends arrive...

I feel sorry for the man. He went mad with power and now it seems he regrets his actions.

He never meant for all this to happen. All he wanted was to give the fans what they wanted. But the lure of the green dollar proved too strong for Lucas. And now he lives in regret.

They should make a biopic about him. :lol

@jye4ever...is that Paul Stanley from the "Phantom of the Opera" in your banner thingie?

Hey anybody who's a KISS fan and SW fan s'gotta be alright.

It's just the don't think just buy that got us into this mess. If the "majority" was right, in this case, why do the BR's sell so well?!?:cuckoo:

Irish can't be burning that many copies:panic::balrog

With as long as the movies have been available and the internet the way it is, it's only the dumbass'es that are :monkey2whiners
