GG has released yet another exclusive--a light up version of the "Year Five" Harry Potter bust that was recently released. It is exclusive to Suncoast/FYE stores. I checked with my local FYE and the Suncoast an hour away, and neither received any along with the other HP merchandise this week.

If anybody happens to grab and extra one of these (the light up version, not the regular) at their local Suncoast, send me a PM and I will be your best friend.

Ok! That may have finally pushed me over the edge! I have been on the fence for months whether I was going to continue collecting the HP and LOTR GG lines! If I haven't sold them by SDCC, then whether or not I can get the exclusives there will determine their fate in my collection! These exclusives are just insane!

I'm just thankful I'm not a SW GG collector. I love the HP busts I have, so I don't know that the exclusives will make me give it all up - but it certainly makes it frustrating.

Nash makes an important point. I'm clearly not having fun collecting GG anymore. I recently sold most of my GG statues and with the continuing level of frustration involved I may just have to give up on them altogether. Hobbies are supposed to be fun, not irritating.

But how the heck am I suppose to get this one? If someone can snag an extra for me I would be forever grateful! that includes a Luna...

It does seem to be very nice though!! So I would hate to leave it out of my collection!

Good luck, Calle! This one will be tough to get. It's going to be an expensive year for completists.

At least GG is playing fair and making sure that collectors of all types will be faced with a hole in their display this year--they have exclusives from almost every one of their lines.

Star Wars busts (OT, PT and EU), both Clone Wars and OT (color and B/W) maquettes, SW statues, LOTR busts, HP busts, SW bust-ups, Lego maquettes. (And many of these are unique characters/sculpts, not just variants/repaints of existing pieces.)

No matter what line you are interested in, GG has something they won't sell you, lol.

You and a whole slew of others. Latley I've noticed people selling their entire collections on the bay.


I think right after the commanders have been raffled, I'll be removing my CC and info from GG. The way the people act in the blogs is immature/frightning.

The light up Harry is cool, but it's exactly like the regular Harry except for the special feature. I'm more nervous about Luna, who is not only a very cool character, but the actress is cute. 500 was tough for Lucius who was very similar to a regular release character and likely to get an unmasked version, but Luna isn't likely to get another pass.

Well, I have the original Harry Potter bust, and the regular version of the Year Five Harry. If I got the light up version of Year Five Harry I would just sell the unopened regular version and keep the light up one. But if I don't get one it won't be the end of the world--that's the nice thing about a variant, you can always settle for the regular version. Same with the SDCC Sirius--I have the regular Sirius and don't feel the need to have two in my collection so I passed on the sepia version.

The problem with the Lucius Malfoy and Luna busts is that they are the only versions available of those characters and if you want them represented in your collection you are going to have to get lucky or pay eBay prices. And that's what makes collecting less fun over time--if they overdo the number of exclusives like they did this year with Star Wars it can get to be too much work maintaining a full set. I am not a SW completist, but they have my sympathy lately!

YEah, I also have the regular Harry on order so it won't be the end of the world, but I really thought that the light up looked pretty cool and would hate to miss it!

But as you said, if I could choose only one I would of course choose Luna, since no regular version exists!

That really bugs me out! I'm in Sweden, so it's practilly impossibly to get the exclusives myself and since I don't know anyone going to Comic-Con I can't ask them to get it.. All I can do is plea on forums and hope someone picks it up for me....

Then of course there's Evilbay Though if you say people is beggining to sell their collections off, I might have a change snagging one! Though if the interesst starts to fade, they might cancel the line.. and I don't whant that!

hey Tom,

I'll call my local FYE's today (there are about 3 of them that are within an hour from my house) and try to get you one.

I am just getting into Gentle Giant w/the Lord of the Rings busts. And, I am already turned off from this whole Glorfindel exclusive.

If I can get it, great. If not, I'm not gonna spend $150+ for it...I'll wait and in a couple months it'll come back down (hopefully).

If anyone else wants one of the Harry Potter busts, shoot me a PM. I can't promise they will have them, but, I'll try.
