Re: GI JOE Kitbash Parts Help Thread
Thanks, I haven't tried putting them on any other different colored cloth, but the cardboard box I have them on for the past couple of months hasn't picked up any black once they're dried. It says right on the marker that you can use them on fabric and that they're permanent, they're acrylic paint.
The Fabric doesn't get stiff when you use just enough paint to color the fabric, which is a single coat with any excess dabbed of with paper towel immediately after applying the paint, progress slowly. The pouches you see there are as soft and flexible as they were before I painted them.
I have screwed one up with too much paint, it looks like fabric coated with paint and the fabric is much stiffer, that was almost three coats of paint (trying to fix the Tulip paint) so don't go overboard.
Also, if you just have stitching that needs to be colored, you can try using the markers just on the stitching, but I'm unsure if the colors will match, unless it's black which I think they will.
The markers come in three different tips, fine, medium, calligraphy.
That looks pretty damned good. Does the color run? When I use rit (and I like it a lot, make no mistake), it does not color the thread. Another question...does the fabric of the poches get stiff from the paint or do they keep there texture?
