I don't really mind is a main character dies.. But killing off David Dunn was a mistake IMO. It was a disservice to the character. So uneventful. Don't kill David and I pretty much enjoy the film as a whole

That's genuinely the one thing I didn't want to happen. I don't think I'll see this in theaters.

And yeah, the "GET TICKETS NOW." ads plastered all over the internet are horribly annoying.

Biggest disappointment other than the ending was the score like I mentioned earlier. How could you not play David’s theme when he broke out or when he found and took out the coat! It was like watching Superman without Williams’ theme. Hated it.

Shocked by how much I loved it. Pretty much exAclty what the trailers and two previous movies promised it would be. Schlocky self seriousness yet utterly comic book. I was waiting for the hour of boringness I keep hearing about but damn I never wanted to walk out and go pee. Also loved the split like soundtrack. Not exactly where I wanted it all to go but it’s nice to have a compete ending. People who thought it was lacking or boring, did you even see unbreakable???? The guy barely put punches a single person, I felt like thy really let him loose in this one. And just as a side note, so cool to see the son ended up working with him to catch bad guys.

I think I just kept hearing how horrible it was and out of left field with twist after twist. I was honestly expecting them to be aliens or this all to be a dream.

Yes... I agree.. I was waiting for it and it never came... What the hell!!

I think I felt like you pretty much until the end which left me cold. Had the film changed a little thing here and there I would have loved it and been fully satisfied.

I didn't hate it at all. I mean I don't think it's better than Split and it's definitely not better than Unbreakable, but I liked it enough. I see what he was going for.

The only thing I didn't really care for was the secret society thing. I think they did David Dunn dirty. How he was handled kinda felt like a punch to the gut, which, I guess is really the point. Elijah and Kevin had some pretty great closure with their send offs, but Dunn not so much.

I agree. I thought he was done dirty but slightly redeemed by the the overall ending. I thought the other two leads had excellent endings which made him look bad in comparison. But it was a gut punch, and it’s nice to be feeling anything in the theaters these days even if it’s a low blow.

Hmm. I don’t think that many people are complaining that they found the movie “boring” as much as just not liking the direction the story took. I was glued to the screen mostly because of the great acting throughout and curiosity of where the story was leading. In retrospect, the overarching story thread of a psychiatrist trying to convince these characters that they were not in fact super humans was not terribly interesting. It’s an interesting idea in premise but to me it did not earn at all the twist/pay-off that it all led to, making the entire storyline feel very stagnant. What’s the point of David and The Horde going through a character arc reaffirming to themselves that their powers ARE in fact real if the movie is just going to do them the way it does at the end?

Like DiFabio said, I get what he was going for. I also get what they were going for with the score. Just like the movie focused less on David than the other characters, so did the score. Problem is that most of us wanted to hear those themes from Unbreakable, and the flashback scenes just remind the viewer how good that music was.

Just got back from seeing it. I actually liked it, but I didn’t like the ending at all and it went on for about fifteen minutes too long.

Couldn't resist and read the spoiler on here. I'm pretty much a hopeless romantic. You take that happy ending away from me(no not that kind) you take away any reason I had to see this. Way to go M. Knight. Dingaling.

please refer to the secret society as "the village people".
from that other shamalay-ah-ding-donged movie...not that gay band.

Enjoyed McAvoy (again) everyone else was average....I don’t know why Willis even tries he looks tired and bored in most things nowadays.....that said it was entertaining enough

Willis was terrible in this, didn’t seem to be in character at all except for the first 10 minutes, which I enjoyed.
Once they got to the institute, it was so boring IMO. I couldn’t stand the American Horror Story actress. That whole hour was a waste, why would they not believe they have super powers. It was so dumb and slow....
When Glass started to finally speak, I finally got into it again. His escape plan was great.
Then once the secret society black clover tattoo people showed up, it got really stupid. Hated that twist, took me out of the movie big time.
Then they kill everyone and the other twist showing superheroes were real but the footage shown wasn’t even that good. Dumb ending and how they treated David was a disgrace. Awful, a movie I wish I never saw like Last Jedi, Crystal Skull, and that last Aliens movie.
