Ordered mine. :banana

As you all know, some of these Go Hero retro Characters have heavily influenced the most Iconic Directors of our Time and served as templates for the most Successful Action adventure Films.

Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers = Star Wars

Some of the Republic Serial Westerns inspired Indiana Jones, etc. George said the truck chase in Indy was based on a Republic Serial and served as his "motif" for Indy and remains his favorite Scene from all the Jones films.

Did you Guys know the rolling boulder in ROTLA was taken from a scene (an hommage) from an Old Black and White Serial?

I have to share this story with y'all. When I was like 6 yrs old, we had a Cub Scout bottle drive. I went to this modest apartment building and there was a doormat with Olympic medals and such, swimming awards I think. The name on the doorbell was L. Crabbe. Buster Crabbe lived in my Hometown of Rye, NY (as did Johnny Weismuller). It was kind of sad Buster lived in such a modest abode. I had heard he lived in Rye, but there I was, at his door.

Unfortunately Buster was not home at the time.

He died a few years later I guess... anyway, I guess there is some nostalgic appeal to this figure for me -- after all he was my homie :D

I pre-ordered my Flash figure this morning. Not too hip on the light blue shirt. I always had the idea that Flash Gordon wore either a red or yellow shirt. I wonder what the non-exclusive shirt color will be?

Wew... if it weren't for this thread, I'd missed it! I COMPLETELY forgot about this! To be honest, I'm a bit surprized about an 'exclusive' version coming from GH. I guess the regular will be offered at SSC then. And on the GH site of course.
Still cool figure.

I wish they had larger photos on the GH website - I'd like to soak up the detail in the figures. Maybe anyone from GH who is reading could post some here?

Also, I'm curious about Wrath of the Titans - I'm assuming this won't be a Harry Hamlin sculpt due to the cost of likeness rights, but if so then it's a shame.

The Harryhausen figures are actually based on sequels that Ray planned to do based on the original films.

The Perseus figure doesn't have a Harry Hamlin likeness, but everything else is perfect. It even comes with a metal Bubo! That definitely outweighs the Hamlin likeness in my book. The prototype is beautiful in person.

Here's a photo of the proto.

This thread was a life saver, I had misread the thing and was gonna wait till this afternoon to order :lol

I actually phoned in my order right at midnight and Steve was willing to take it, I had emailed him getting permission to do a phone order last week, but I don't think either of us that would mean him being up :lol

He was supremely cool, chatted for a bit about upcoming stuff and figures. Cool guy, I put in a plug to get him to come visit the site.

Yeah, I had a problem. Mentioned the Freaks board, hint hint. He was genuinely interested and accommodating. Nice guy. I expected as much as that's what customizer and pjam had been saying.

He also seems like someone who genuinely is excited about making cool figures... I'm really jazzed to see what stuff is coming from them. Especially to see the guy wielding that giant club :rock :rock

Glad you got your order in ya klutz. :lol

Did you get the confirmation email? That's where I fell over. Ordered Buck Rogers and didn't realise it wasn't actually ordered. Found out today though, and was able to secure one. :woo

I'm wanting to see the skeletons. I think that's going to be pretty innovative.

This is what I want. This was the third in the Commando Cody serials called "Zombies of the Stratosphere". This is Judd Holdren as Larry Martin, G-man. He wore a voice Transmitter on his belt, something which was an added "High Tech" piece to the suit. It is also the very first film Leonard Nimoy appeared in as I recall.

Firstly, there was the "King of the Rockemen" Serial starring Tristram Coffin and then the George Wallace Commando Cody serials "Radar Men from the Moon" and 2 others I think. Three different Actors played this role.

Les Walker, when visiting Bob Burns basement, touched the Actual suit used in the Serial. I think he took a close up pick of the control dials and has it on file somewhere.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed Steve does a "Rocketman" figure. I wouldn't be surprised if they are pursuing the license.

It is right up his alley.

He also has a lot of the original SW Cantina aliens that you can't see in that pic.

Oh gawd. If coming here changes him, I hope he stays away. :lol

Hi Steve. :wave Do not reveal your secret identity.

Yeah, I'd hate for him to decided that collectors weren't deserving enough for his figures :lol
