It's like Jaime Lannister's equivalent to Jon Snow's "Pompeii". But, it looks crazy and awesome so I'm in.

And I loved those movies so I'm in. :)

at least the mummy had an "ancient" look to them.

this looks like Transformers mixed with clash of the titans. I hate that movies today are doing that (Like Percy Jackson)

I am kind of on board with the movie but the creature designs are too shiny and fake looking. not sure why they can't make movies that are supposed to be ancient to LOOK ancient.

this looks like it takes place on a videogame instead of ancient Egypt.

(Immortals did the same crap. at least 300 had that ancient look to it, EVEN if it was all CGI... Zack Snyder stylizes everything but 300 never looked as "Modern" as this)

Also, why is everything so freaking shiny? it looks so fake... holy christ...Even the Night At The Museum didn't look as fake as this! I Swear that comedy movie didn't look as videogamy as this does.

Well it's going to be a ****** movie, that's a given. Not worth giving much thought. I'll gladly watch it though for some epic CGI Egyptian god battlez.

For once I understand the race relate bitching, they just don't look like Egyptian gods, they look like white dudes playing pretend.

You know what has well represented (kinda) Egyptian gods? Stargate.

Okay....I just got back from this. I had a couple of hours to kill and it was cheap so I went. Plus, it had Gerard, who was the best part of the movie actually.

Anyway, the story isn't bad, but of course it had to have it's young romance in it. That I could do without, but I understand why they do that. Actually, there was a woman there with her 3 tween girls, so that worked. A lot of eye candy for the guys in this. ;)

To answer a few questions, the gold creatures....they are actually the gods who change to fight. They have gold for blood, that's why they turn all gold. They are also bigger and taller than the mortals. This story is set BEFORE the days of mummies, etc. This is when the gods were still on Earth.

As for portraying Egyptians, every single color was represented in this movie, both mortals and gods. In the mythology books, that's the way it was in those days. All colors of people living together in Egypt, not the mainly brown people of today. That happened due to divide and conquer. If the bitchers would watch the movie, or read the myth books, they would know that.

Though I liked the movie, I know most of you wouldn't, so I would save it for Redbox or Netflix. The fights were pretty good, and so was the acting of Butler and Waldau. I was surprised to see Geoffrey Rush as Ra, so that was a nice treat. The CGI wasn't bad, but there was a ton of it.

I don't think this deserves the slamming that it's getting by some critics and Rotten Tomatoes though. I've seen a hellava lot worse than this.

Knew it.
Another movie that is just harmless entertainment trying some original visual stuff that gets destroyer for no reason.

it has been called the new batman and robin of this generation by a lot of people i know

from the sets and colors to the action to the acting and the humor
