Okay guys,

I'm looking for some help/advice here from my fellow G' collectors: I'm re-doing my bedroom in a retro 70's style, complete with Jaws poster and vintage alarm clock... :) Aaaand, I want to display an X-Plus Godzilla figure on top of my bookshelf. Not several, not two - just one, lol. But which one? If it truly was the 1970's (with the addition of awesomely cool X-Plus Godzilla's) which version of the Big-G would you expect to see upon entering a 12 year-olds room? (Not that I'm twelve mind you - my room just might look like it... a bit. :lol)

Which one would you choose and why? '62? '64?, '66? '68? There are so many options... :gah:

I'd just wait for the 68 Diamond Reissue.

If its truly the 70s, id go with godzilla '68 or '74. '68 costume was reused in two 70's films.

But...'64 godzilla would fit right in as well since he's so iconic. You want to represent evil ir heroic Godzilla? Id guess good guy.

I'd go with '68. UNLESS you went after the ric boy '74 with the mechagodzilla head. Nothing screams the 70s more than godzilla vs mechagodzilla.

I've never even heard of revoltech, looks cool though. Kind of want to keep everything SHMA for what I'm going for with these recent purchases, although I agree old school Rodan looks cooler. Does it fit in with SHMA?

Also was kind of after the breath effects that come with the SHMA Rodan

Revoltech is smaller. He is even smaller than '64 monsterarts. But he does look cool with him.

I think Rodan only comes with a beam effect but I can be wrong

I think it comes with 3 stands and a couple different beams and I believe a Mecha Godzilla head with the eye pecked out lol

Thanks man! Still fighting the good fight to not buy Biollante. That price....but that figure...UGH It's a daily struggle on Amazon. lol

Just ordered Rodan for 36 bucks shipped. Too cheap not too. Now I kind of want Mothera heh

I put Biollante in my amazon shopping cart at least once a day....one of these days I'll hit buy :lol

I know what you mean. I was trying to keep it in the 30cm scale, so that cuts out the Mecha-G's. I suppose whichever one would be the most iconic. I'm going back and forth between the '62, '64, and '68. The '68 is definitely a bit more 'friendly' looking which might cut down on his 'coolness factor' a bit. I mean if we were all twelve and saw these three versions of Godzilla lined up next to each other, which one are you going to run for screaming "AWESOME! He's totally mine!"

:dunno

And people tell me I over-think things... Ha! :lol

Well, here is the Ric Boy Godzilla '75. Obviously he's expensive, but he defines the 70's. I didn't mean to buy MG on top of it (though you very well could) just that this Godzilla comes with a MG accessory.

But, out of all the choices I still think Godzilla '64 would be the best display. He's relatively affordable, a popular design, and he looks more display-ready whereas '68 kind of has that silly wave, hand-in-the-air pose. I'm not very fond of it....

But that's just me.

I picked up a couple of those blind bag godzillas. Anyone into them or are they just for kids? Lol.

Got a 2014 and an oldie with atomic breath. Yay! Perfect desk size.

Lol. I'll probably wait until it says 10 left. That will put the pressure on. :)

Picked up Mosura!

For a 70's look, I'd say either the 68 or 75. Both are what I recall fondly from childhood and both are 2 of my favorite Godzilla suits! When it comes to X-Plus, neither are very cheap in the 25cm line at the moment. However, the 68 30cm is on the way! I'd say that's your best bet! :wink1:

What? LOL

Don Frye in a new commercial. :lol

That guy was a bad-ass fighter. Too bad he didn't spend much time in U.S. pro wrestling.

My son is going in for surgery, so far up to $2,000 payment and that's WITH private health insurance. :horror

That's 2 gigantic Godzilla's plus 2 Xplus. :horror
Dang dude. I feel your pain, though. We've got one of the best insurances you can get--top notch state group health care plan--and still ended up spending something like $4-5K on my daughter's hospital bills over the last half year or so. Interestingly, getting tubes put in only cost us around $50.
