Final product photos of Bandai vinyl Godzilla and MUTO.

I really want the Godzilla cuz Bandai vinyl's were and still are a big part of my collection, but it's hard to justify the costs to get one when I have the NECA at the same size and much better overall figure. Maybe if BBTS gets them cheap.

While I still feel like the sculpt work has some stylized qualities, I feel like Sakai's raw sculpt for the SHMA figure looks much more like the 2014 design than the final figure, I feel like the articulation ruined the sculpt on this one.

I'd love to get a figure that looks like this.

I would love to see that. I hope one day xplus does a 30cm Biollante.

I'd also love a 30cm Biollante.... But I would have no idea where to put something THAT BIG!

That looks... surprisingly like crap. (Okay, so maybe I was a bit too excited earlier. Apparently.)

Well, shoot. I guess I'll be over here waving my little light for X-Plus to save us from squeaky over-articulated versions.

For reasons that I would rather forget, I had to sell my original Bandai 18" Godzilla, 20 years ago. I recently scored a Thai knockoff, and painted him up on Monday:

Ditto. I love the look of Godzilla - both in his Showa incarnations as well as the latest American version, but the 'slice n' dicing' done for the sake of articulation always ruins the sculpts for me. I have them in a bloody display case anyways, it's not like I need to re-pose them.

The '94 looks good, but I feel like SHMA is trying to push the posability which means more obvious joints.

The movie design is miles better than the toys of them.

No, the flying MUTO toys were designed to stand more like the airport scene but even then not exact, but even the Rodan figures are made standing instead of looking like he's flying, guess Bandai prefers that route whenever possible.

Meantime, the wait on NECA is killing me, just an amazing figure.

Its neat. They changed his proportions up didn't they? He looks thinner than the film version. The head/body ratio looks better than it did in the movie imo.

He still looks thinner to me next to those pr figures. The view is pretty much the same. But his appearance seemed to slightly change throughout the movie. Some scenes he looked very obtuse in others he looked more streamlined.

It's definitely a very interesting design. His mass looks quite different depending on framing, posture, everything, pretty slim some times, bulky at others.
