Did anyone pick up the target exclusive for godzilla blu ray with the 30 min bonus? Is it worth the purchase or would you recommend I wait for an amazon sale few months down the road or something like that?

I have it. It's kind of cool if you like little mini documentaries about movie development and background from the people involved in making the movie, but it's not a make or break thing if you can get a better deal elsewhere.

My son thinks thats baby Godzilla. :lol

well finally got response from amiami about that paint smudge on my shma g14 neck .lol they offered 500 jpy in ami poinst.the ****?!

Are there pics of the 62 Godzilla on here? Although I really wanted a larger Godzilla representation in my collection (like Sideshow's maquette), I don't think we'll see any classic Godzillas in that format. So I've decided to try X-Plus' figures to see if I like them. I'm just sticking with the Showa era and just picked up 64, and plan to pick up 68. Was just wondering how good 62 looked.

Thank you! I appreciate all the photos here. I've been waffling on X-plus since they announced the reissues. It's hard to tell from advertised photos how good the piece is and I haven't see any pieces in person.

Here you go. In-hand photo of the diamond release on the left and the original ric boy on the right. Taken from my Facebook

Just some different paint apps. That godzilla looks incredibly different depending which angle you look at him from cause of his pose

Wo, they look very different. What's up with that.

Neck seems fatter on the diamond too, eyes don't look right either.

I think the eyes look better

62 Godzilla is a funny suit period... By funny I mean that it looks very different depending on the angle he is at. Even in the film... He is very menacing from the side view and kind of goofy looking from straight on... His eyes are so close from the front that it gives him a slightly comical look.. But his profile is IMO one of the best, if not the best Godzilla profiles ever.

The diamond looks perfect in your pic Gspawn. The Neck is just as it should be though It looks like the original has the more screen accurate eye..

The original looks just as he should from that angle also.. Can't wait to get mine!!! Should be here Sat or Mon. G62 is my second fav suit... flaws and all :)

Here is a kit photo that pretty much captures how weird G62 looks from the front...

I agree with your sentiments exactly. It's a polarizing suit but when that fully captures all sides of the 70's Godzilla if you know what I mean. Especially knowing the backstory of King Kong vs Godzilla and how Godzilla wasn't even supposed to be in it and how the two were portrayed like two sumo wrestlers by the media at the time doing interviews and all. This film started a wonderful trend for Godzilla films, it was the turning point. They couldn't keep going being as sinister as the '54 film and even if they tried they wouldn't have ever really been able to recreate that level of performance. They ad to branch the series out, and this film made the series more fun and trendy. Not to mention it has one of the best Godzilla battles ever, and most unique.

King-Goji has one of the best profiles ever, i agree. But from the front, he looks so happy and pudgy, it's hard to imagine that Sakai's Godzilla 2000 design stemmed from that costume in any way. But it has so much character. It's funny, the standard original release '62 had plain eyes, than the Ric had the more accurate, deeper colored eyes, and now this one looks (to me) a mix between the two). I like that they nails are so white. In the film, I always remember the scene where he's wading to shore and the military is waiting to greet him and I always recognize how starkly white his nails were in that shot.

62 is a wacky, I crack up when KK kicks the rock at Godzilla and throws rocks at him, or when the guy in the helicopter sees them rolling down the kill and says "Hey break it up". :lol
