Yeah, it's very unique, but I like it more than the ones Bandai'd planned, did these ever even get released?

They almost look like they belong with a LEGO set or little kids big blocks.

Yup they were released on on clearance like a month later lol they had a 54 coming out that looked neat but never made it into production because of how poorly the first two sold.

Ahh, much appreciated. All the standard paint jobs are lousy but I felt the sculpt was there from the prototype they had at Wondefest back then. It's nice there's outlets to get X-Plus and Medicom Godzilla's over here easily but so many good and rare pieces never see U.S. buyers unless you know the right connections.

I appreciate it, finances keep me from getting much that isn't sold in Toys R Us these days but I'll keep that in mind.

Speaking of TRU, went to mine looking for the NECA '54 today, no luck, but my local TRU is slow to put out products and they're all working on Force Friday Star Wars prep so I figure maybe next week.

I really really dislike this toy line for various reasons...but I always said if they ever did Godzilla I'd get it...they got me by da balls

So apparently the gray one is a Game Stop exclusive and this will be the standard.

I get these are cute and don't need to adhere to accuracy, but only one Godzilla suit has ever been green.

I think it's some sort of default in your brain, like the whole thing with that blue or gold dress. Your mind auto corrects. You see a giant lizard and you think it has to be green. I have hundreds of Godzillas and I can tell you that even though I know he's grey, depending on the light, my mind wants to see green.

Depending on your age too, the Imperial Godzilla had an influence on thinking he's green, though by that logic he also wears lipstick haha. I also feel like American advertising back in the day would call him green or depict him that way.

That is true. I remember many movie posters had him green. All my old super 8 reel boxes probably depicted him in green. The old Aurora model was molded in green plastic. Of course, the people depicting him that way were probably seeing green too as I already stated.

What's really interesting with the green is his original color was brown, is it sad that if I had a time machine one thing I'd be most curious to see is the original '54 suit in person.

Theres a NYC store called toy tokyo that has the gray one as an exclusive. Apparently gamestop somehow got sent the wrong godzilla and displayed it anyway. Toy tokyo is also getting a glow one. As well as having three of the suit actors doing a special signing at NYCC if you guys are going.
