Got this beast in September, but only now able to properly photograph him. By far the largest of the 30cm Godzilla figures.

Anyone have any advice for me; I'm looking at the Ebirah Ric Boy exclusive. I don't want the regular version; it's pretty big and not my preferred version.

What makes more sense; trying to buy the exclusive part later, or buying the exclusive now and then selling the regular part. It's $250+shipping from awesome collector for the ric boy. Trying to make the best and easiest financial choice. Thanks in advance!

I missed out on the HobbySearch restock of the 30 cm X-Plus Shin Godzilla. It went up overnight the night before last and was already gone by the time I woke up. Bummer. I hope there's a Diamond release some time in the future.

I was under the impression there were two separate pieces. I guess I didn't read the description carefully enough. Well I guess I'm out on that since I don't want to spend $250 on the piece.

I really think it should've been the other way around; the water base as the regular release and then if you want the body that's the special version. It's really been a while since I've seen it but I don't remember him walking on land or seeing his entire body at all, but I could be wrong I guess.

Yeah, I don't remember Ebirah ever coming out of the water and it really is (with the condor in the same movie) the least interesting and compelling kaiju in the series. The 25cm looks awkward and only looks good with a custom rock base. The reg 30 cm is the same and looks like a boiled crawdad and the legs sit awkwardly. The Ric really is the only way to go with this one unfortunately and that more or less is just a vinyl (and probably poly resin) diorama statue.

Yeah I could go out and get a plastic lobster and have almost the same effect as this lol. Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster and King Kong vs. Godzilla were the first two I had on VHS and watched them a ton of times as a kid, so Ebirah has a spot in my heart, but I can't justify $250. I think the both versions look great, but I don't get the decision making for X-Plus having that be the exclusive.

edit. On second thought maybe I'll see a bunch of deals on the regular version after it shelf warms for a while and try to recreate the water effects myself somehow.

Technically it was fans, but clearly folks in Toho and behind the anime took a shine to the G14 look.

Long story short ... had all three PJ Mezco King Kongs as a Christmas present one year, possibly the best I've ever gotten. Had to sell them to help family through an unexpected financial bind. Missed them ever since but considered them gone because of the 2ndry market prices. Well, last night my youngest son and wife show me an early Christmas present for this year, one of the Kongs that had its arms broken off in transit due to poor packing materials. They got some money back from the seller and they tell me (I don't want to know the numbers) that it brought the overall price down to the original way back in 2005. We did some drilling, sanding, steel epoxy applying and now have two workable arms and one of the 8th Wonders of the World is back on my desk!!

I read that right now only Godzilla is being considered for preorder. Who knows if the others will see the light of day.

Well, I saw that Godzilla about and Ghidorah were going up for preorder over at taghobby. And why wouldn’t Bandai release all of these? Seems like pretty safe money to me. I really love what they have done so far.
