Very close, the head is like a pieces in different scales, the top half being a bit too small to the lower half, but the details are good in each.
Oh dang, received my shma Shin Godzilla (frozen ver.) and the box is big!
Took some quick shots of the '89 before I customize it, planning extensive custom work so wanted to show off the stock figure a little before I do that.

What are your custom plans? I have the figure but do also think it could be a bit more accurate.
For now, repaint the spines and eyes, and do some measure of skin touch up. Mine had a glue spot or something at the right side of the mouth that I need to paint over and once I redo the bone color of the spines, I’ll need to redo the skin on them and make that blend with the body. Haven’t decided if I’m daring enough to do this or not, but this YouTuber gave him better fangs and I do like the look.
Also keep looking at the upper head thinking if I could pull off adding more mass to make it better, not so confident in my sculpting skills.

Other than the slight misstep with the head, I love the figure, even the hand gestures really capture the ‘89 uniquely. Luckily the head’s issues are only glaring from certain angles so you can work with it on display.

Unlit looks best, looks like the best translation of the screen effect into figural form, similar to NECA, just done better.
Pretty sure they've stopped sending out stock, what's in stores is what they've got.

All the online shops still have preorders and the variants of the 2 newer ones are Target exclusives, so they've definitely getting those at least.
Right, there's still orders out there, and the 2 exclusives in September, but as far as the older ones, no sense Target keeping them up on their site if their stock is in stores only, probably can't fulfill web orders anymore.
Target's site sucks for NECA anyway, lists far less than I know they sell in store.

Just picked up the '89 Neca Godzilla from Target. Had it PO'd from BBTS before they raised the price (from $22.99 to $29.99). Target was $24.99 but I still saved $2 on BBTS $4 shipping. Got tired of waiting. Plus easy to return if I decided I didn't like it. Figure is pretty damn nice for the price. But damn, what a pain in the *** to get the tail attached. Even after sitting in very hot water for awhile.
Debating on getting a '54 Neca Godzilla before they all dry up. Was thinking of getting the S.H. Monsterarts version but not sure I want to pay that much. I only have a few Godzilla collectibles.
