WB has confirmed that the home release will NOT be an extended cut but that they have 8 completed scenes that will be included as deleted scenes NONE INVOLVING MORE MONSTER ACTION only additional family drama and Monarch discussions.

Knowing that now I think we're better off without an extended cut since 8 more scenes of human drama would absolutely kill any momentum this movie has getting to the monster battles it would destroy that monster/human ratio which already suffers from too much family drama.

WB must know that a movie called KOTM calls for spending money on more monsters and less humans right....WB knows this right lol

Why aren't the Maulfan's, Biojex's and JAWS's of this world not consulting on these movies!

There’s not telling WB’s angle in this, Legendary is only connected with them for MonsterVerse and PR at this point I believe.

FX are expensive, if they had scenes that involved more monster action then they would have cut them before doing the FX or at the very least before the FX were completed, which wouldn't really be worth watching.

I didn't know the thread was back open till this afternoon.

Last I knew Maulfan pulled another fast one and locked it again :lol

I agree.. No more human moments in the film... If anything cut the Sub scene down a few min :lol

I hope there is plenty BTS about Monster designs and all that.. Please no mini Documentaries about the Human characters :lol

Fact.

I think we were all hoping had the film done very well we would get a Peter Jackson type Extended Cut with Finished FX monster scenes.

Oh well :(

I read the novelization and while most of the dialogue is the same it comes off much worse in the book than it does in the movie, I think it's because it's kind of shot in a way where it doesn't dwell on what they're saying too much.

Scenes to cut....

Almost all of the family drama
Almost all the terrorist angle

The stupid car chase at the end.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

I saw this on it's 2nd weekend after release. It was OK. I was a Godzilla fan as a kid, and my son has shared that interest. We both liked it, but the human elements and story overall were pretty dumb. Didn't make much sense. Lots of cool eye candy and fun visuals. A popcorn movie to the fullest. It also felt to me like it had a DCEU JL vibe. Too much, too soon. Makes seeing the eventual Godzilla vs Kong inconsequential. Nothing in that movie could top this. And why wasn't Kong in this if he is considered one of the Titans?

I liked the previous Godzilla movie. I feel the story was hashed out much better and made sense. I know many had complaints, but I enjoyed it. I liked the human drama side to it. Makes it more relatable than just having monsters running around destroying things and fighting each other. Although that is what we want to see.

I hope this doesn't spell the end for the franchise though. I'll always support and go see a Godzilla movie. No matter how bad... A real Godzilla fan isn't looking for an actual story. :lol

As a kid I’d skipped the boring human parts and get to Godzilla. Godzilla movies were constantly on fast forward and sometimes it felt like forever til he showed but I wanted to see Godzilla action

There's a book?

More lost money for this film.

My 9-year-old self would never believe that I would miss this movie in the theater. But I have. My inner child is sad.

You just bought yourself a voodoo doll from Maulfan/Biojex lol

Fair enough take on it.
