Will have a full review later this month, but if you’re looking for a simple recommendation, this is a must-see summer movie. It gets right what the other modern-day Godzilla movies got wrong (in my opinion, of course).

Also the VFX in

are insane. I'm so impressed with what
@Mike_Dougherty
did with the material and monster battles and can't wait to see it again. If you weren't looking forward to the new
@GodzillaMovie
it's time to buy tickets.

#GodzillaKingOfTheMonsters
ups the monster action considerably. The battle scenes are gorgeous & fierce & feel ripped from the pages of a gnarly graphic novel. You want a giant-monster movie throwdown, this is it and then some. Can’t wait for that Godzilla vs Kong movie now

Godzilla: King of the Monsters rules so ******* hard. Easily the most fun I’ve had in theaters all year and the best Monsterverse entry yet. The scale is mind-boggling & every action scene could be your new desktop wallpaper. See it on the biggest screen possible.

Did anyone ride high after 2014?

Seems like there was lots of disappointment.

I don't remember the buzz from early screenings, but I do want to say that there was positivity. Not saying this buzz is in the wrong, but sometimes you walk away so excited from all the build up and such, you don't actually stop to really think about your feelings on the subject.

On the other hand, I walked out of Endgame feeling about exactly as I do towards it :lol

Here's HD copies of all the latest poster art.

lol@ JAWS

So this american Godzilla movie “really goes there”, wow.

Anyways MD has confirmed that the initial cut was 3 hours long and that every battle has an extended version but I bet the studio mandated to keep the pace going at a certain rhythm.

Well a 3 hour cut worked for Endgame. :lol

They better finish the effects and release an extended cut!!!

Why would they cut the action?

Cut out the humans and leave the Kaiju action :lol

Oh and not a major spoiler but its been confirmed by a reviewer that
Another familiar monster does appear in the film

Nope not reading lol

Look as much as a Kaiju fan that I am I mean who doesn’t love giant monsters shooting atomic lasers and lightning while toppling skyscrapers I still know that even if this movie kicks serious butt at the end of the day they’re still giant monsters so no matter what happens to Godzilla it will never give me the same emotional response that I got from End Game’s big scene.

I can never get the same level of melancholy in a Kaiju movie that I got from Vision’s death or the same level of satisfaction that I got from Cap’s Avengers Assemble scene, not happening.

Sure i’ll still have fun and pump my fist in the air as Godzilla swings KG around by his neck lol but I still get more feels from seeing human characters prevailing.

As exciting as the big moment of Endgame were, as much as I’ve followed the MCU, I feel that this Godzilla movie equally has a payoff for me after 32 years of fandoming these monsters, being let down by the first time the character was given a budget to do things like never before, to now have my 4 most favorite monsters being brought to us with all the wow and glory that men in suits just couldn’t ever achieve is as exciting for me as seeing all the superheroes of 20+ films and 10 years come together. As much as I wanted to see all those heroes come together, I have wanted to see what KOTM looks to be, a classic Godzilla movie amplified by the abilities of modern SFX. I also only ever care about Hulk prior to the MCU, but that too is like 30 years of fandom going back to watching Ferrigno reruns as a kid, hence my disappointment with Endgame on that front, but I have liked all these kaiju for 32 years, as a kid I’d notice certain tree branches resembled Ghidorah’s neck :lol, I always wanted figures of these guys. When Trendmasters came out I lost it finally having Mothra, Ghidorah and Rodan figures.

I also found out my IMAX showing is actually 2D with 4K presentation, so I’ll be able to wear my regular glasses and soak this in for all its glory, I’m beyond ecstatic :rock

I don’t know Maul but the crocodile bird design of cgi Godzilla holds the feels back for me.

Had they made a 500 foot TOHO looking cgi Godzilla I would feel more enthusiastic.

Like literally an exact copy of 64 or Heisei or 2000 or GMK but with a 250 million budget!

If this film is done perfectly (and it wont be) it has the ability to send me into a child like state that no other film would be able to do.

Godzilla was my first love. Nothing comes close or is as dear to my 4 year old heart as Godzilla.

I rarely get the feeling of awe and wonder like I did as a child.

Jurassic Park T-Rex scene took me there as did the T-Rex rescue.
The Incredible Hulk took me there with the Thunder Clap and "Hulk Smash" moments.

I became a wide eyed child again for those moments..

If this film can do that.. Oh Boy.

I just don't think it will happen.

I wonder if that holds me back also..

But if they can nail the Godzilla personality I think it can succeed

Especially since I love the look of the Godzilla so much more in this one..

But its not perfect..

We will see.
